And You Thought Your Day Was Bad...

Pam herself into a predicament last night. Luckily Dr. Hubby came to her rescue. I however freaked out and had to go lay down. I am no good in these kinds of situations.

Like A Tween At A Justin Bieber Concert

I have a fear. Well, not sure if I would call it a fear or...shoot I don't know what you would call it...a weakness maybe?! I am posting today to confess one of my secrets. Something I have not revealed to the bloggy world...

I NEVER cook raw meat. E.V.E.R. Nope not even hamburger. I don't even know how to "brown" hamburger.

Well, I am attempting to rid myself of this weakness. So I actually ventured into the meat dept. and purchased this pack of pork chops. My head was spinning and I thought I was going to hit the floor like a tween at a Justin Bieber concert! But I made it...

Yesterday I readied my ingredients. Game on...

While getting the chops out of the package and into the crock pot I had visions of Justin Bieber again...my heart was pounding...I even started to sweat. I sliced the onion {the tears were from the onion, right?}.

Then I happily mixed the other ingredients and poured them on top of the chops and onions.

In 6 hours I had tender chops and a delicious smelling home! I served the chops with mashed potatoes and brocolli w/cheese. I forgot to take a pic of my plate so this is the bowl I put up for Dr. Hubby {who is in the doghouse cause he "accidentally" ate out with his parents}.
I got the recipe from one of my newest bloggy finds...My Favorite Everything. She had linked to the recipe in her weekly menu.
The kids and I loved this meal and I am putting it in the recipe file! It's a keeper!
Crock Pot Pork Chops
4 whole lean pork chops
1 med. onion sliced or diced
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms {I didn't use these}
2 cans {10.75 oz.} mushroom soup
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dried parsley
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
Place chops in crock pot. Lay onion slice and mushrooms over chops.
Mix other ingredients in a bowl and pour over chops.
Cook on low for 5-6 hours {or 1 hour in oven at 350 degrees}
Serve with mashed potatoes.
Note: After baking remove chops and strain gravy. Reserve mushrooms and onions for those who want them.

Every week I am going to try a new recipe! Got an easy one you think I should try? Email me at girl {dot} scrappy {at} yahoo {dot} com!

My Cup Runneth Over

I recently overheard a mother in the preschool line talking about how her son had seen a yard full of dandelions and said, "Mom why don't we have pretty yellow flowers in our yard."

The mom said she didn't have the heart to tell him that they put stuff on their yard so they won't grow.
Our yard is filled with dandelions and I love it! There is nothing better then a little hand with "farm fingernails" holding out a bright yellow flower she picked "just for you."

I put them in a small glass in my kitchen and every time I glance at them it makes my heart warm. I love them 'ol weeds...

Whoooo Could Resist This?

This cute little owl called my name this weekend while shopping for shoes for the kids. Instead of "Hoot Hoot" he said, "Scraaaappppyyyy buuyyy mmeee."

And I did.

Mission Impossible...Complete!

Remember this?

Well, it now looks like this. I still see a few things I would change {stuff hanging on ends of curtain rod}, BUT for the first time I allowed Manga Dork to do her spring cleaning all by herself. This drove my inner control freak NUTS!

I love her posters...especially the new Vampire Diaries one! Team Damon...

Manga Dork also thinks it is HILARIOUS to put her Jacob poster on her door where I have to see it constantly. Team Edward...

She removed a 30 gallon black garbage bag full of clothes from her collection and still had this many left...you can't even see the other side of jeans and stuff. She says the top of the closet is ok for now....aaaahhhh...I may have to catch her at school and fix it...lol.

Now about that world peace...

We're Going In!

Last night Manga Dork started pulling items from her closet. This weekend we are going to clean and organize it from top to bottom and then....

I am doing a puzzle swap at Scrap Sisters Studio. There were 12 participants. Each person chose colors and a theme for their puzzle. We had to design one piece for each person. Here are the pieces I completed...

Wicked Theme...I actually cut up one of my NYC Broadway playbill covers for this....
it was worth it!

Shabby Chic

Gerard Butler...she's a little obsessed.

Sci-Fi Theme...I had nothing in my stash and had to REALLY stretch to come
up with this.

Nature Theme

Rob Pattinson...she's REALLY obsessed!

Flower Theme

France/Eiffel Tower Theme...REALLY had to stretch for this one too!
Manga Dork said it was her favorite.

Kitchen Theme

Photography/Scrapbooking Theme

Purple Theme

This is the piece I designed that will go in my puzzle. I chose a to have everyone put their name and a small picture on their piece. This way when I get my puzzle back I will have something to hang in my scraproom with my Scrap Sisters on it!
{The M&Ms are covering up my name}
{Yes, I ate them after I took the picture}

You've Never Had It So Random {April Edition}

Yesterday Cutie wanted to go outside and blow bubbles...in her Christmas pjs and scuba gear. I helped her get the mask on and told her not to pour them out on the trampoline. Just another day on the farm...

Thank you America! Tim Urban is GONE from American Idol and Kate is off DWTS! We must be doing something right!

The other night I picked up chinese {Manga Dork and I are supposed to be on a diet remember?} and after eating I opened up my fortune cookie. It read...Be a role model, the younger ones are watching. Guilt...not a great dessert.

Yesterday I went to the schoolhouse and NO ONE complained about having to be there. It was bliss. The complaining has been so bad that I almost added a scraproom to our house remodel. I almost have the schoolhouse how I want it...it would stink to have to move it.

It's almost the weekend!

What random thoughts are rolling around in your head?

I Wasn't Joking

I wasn't joking when I told the kids that if they didn't behave in Walmart I would put a price tag on them and sell them.

Have you ever threatened your children with something ridiculous? Did it work?

I Bet This Is What Heaven Smells Like!

No need to light my Spring Lilac candle today. I found 3 bushes on the farm!

Only In WV...

We visited Dr. Hubby's cousins this weekend. We wanted to see Cousin K all dressed up for the prom. She was SO beautiful.

Manga Dork was the first one to cry...

We watched the Prom Walk. The dresses were GORGEOUS! But only in WV would someone wear a camo prom dress. The front was shorter than the back and they had lined it with Hunter Orange. She carried orange lillies...you know the kind that grows on the side of the road. They are one of my fave flowers. It was very unique. I'm surprised they didn't arrive on an ATV!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Why Can't I Just Be Selfish And Self Absorbed?!

This little fellow is brand new...well he's a couple days old now. I just missed him popping out by a few seconds. I was in the top of the barn and coming down the stairs when he came out! {Yes, I was actually INSIDE our barn!} He still has his adorable wobbly new legs. Don't ya just want to hug him?!

Manga Dork recieved her awards for volleyball at a banquet last night.
Oh yeah...about the title of this post...
We are supposed to be going to WV to see a cousin go to the prom on Saturday. She is really excited.
The problem.
I CAN NOT go see her AND go see Dr. Carlisle Cullen from Twilight. It is a 5 hour drive to her home from the mall where Carlisle will be. Carlisle will appear from 12 to 5. She leaves at 4:30! Argh.
Don't worry...I have my priorities in place. Carlisle will just have to deal with not meeting me.
Surely this will effect my "Meeting Someone Famous" Mojo. I better go bake a cake....
The Jolie-Pitts will surely be moving into the empty house next door!

Where Are Pockets When You Need Them?!

Cutie Patootie performed with her preschool class on Tuesday evening. She wanted to wear her tutu...again. Yes, that would make grandparent's day, class pictures, and now the spring performance. I'm gonna have to hide it.

This is how Cutie stood for 13 out of the 15 minutes she was on stage. I was just waiting for the skirt to hit her ankles. I suspicion I have the teacher to blame. Notice the boys with their hands in their pockets...I think she thought she was supposed to do it too.

Celebrating the Arts

This past weekend I participated in an online crop at Scrap Sisters Studio. This layout was for a color challenge. I had the perfect paper pack from Stampin' Up!

This card was for a quilting challenge. I am going to give it to my mom for Mother's Day! She loves to quilt.

I got this cute pillow {Walmart} for my shaggy chair in the schoolhouse. Love the blingy message!

Wild Child preformed at her preschool show last night. It was a wild day yesterday. My mom had 6 different "preventative" yearly tests ran...MIL did the preschool run and got the kids to the show that evening....our butts hit the seats in the nick of time.

She was the color green. After the show we whisked her off to her very first tball practice. She is the only girl on the team. She is also "that kid whose father sponsors the team and his name is on the front of the tshirts." LOL.
Hope your week got off to a great start!

I {heart} Blonde Doctors

Ok don't hate me...but next Saturday I will be meeting a blonde doctor.

And he's not my husband.

Lil Sis you may want to sit down.

Peter Facinelli, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, from the Twilight Saga will be signing autographs and taking photos at my mall.

Thank goodness I did not use my 35 things list "Meet Someone Famous" mojo on Pete Rose, baseball legend, while I was in Vegas!

At what point can we declare an epidemic?

I just heard that Tiki Barber {probably not spelled right...I think he is a football player} cheated on his 8 months pregnant with twins wife.

It is just one after another...

Brad Pitt...Jon Gosselin...Tiger Woods...Jesse James...and now this guy. I am sure I am missing one or twenty in that list.

They are up to 5 alleged mistresses for Jesse now...I wonder if Tiger sent Jesse flowers?

This is obviously a trend...

Who do you think will be next?

Not So Happily Ever After

The queen sucks and may or may not have taken things too far.
The princess is upset and mad at the queen.
The king is oblivious as usual.
The vote is canceled.

The Fairytale Continues...

The Queen had a really rough day yesterday. The little princesses were royal pains. She ended up with a headache the size of a dragon's booty.

After school the oldest princess was taken to purchase clothing for the dance. Dr. King invited his mother to go along. Salt into the queen's wounds...

When they returned late that night the princess brought her finds into the queen's royal chamber. The queen was shocked to see a plain v-neck tshirt with a tube top of a thing to go under it. The jewelry and shoes did nothing to compliment the ensemble. The princess's main complaint had been she needed something with SPARKLE for the dance...there was no sparkle.

The queen half expected Sir Ashton Kutcher, the castle's jester, to jump out!

So the queen spoke her mind and the princess put on her best pouty teen face and marched out of the room.

"What are we going to do?" the queen thought. She wanted to enlighten the princess.

The queen sat straight up in her bed. "I know! We'll ask the royal court which outfit would be best for the princess to wear to the dance!"

Hear ye Hear ye
To all my royal bloggy court
You are hereby invited to make
your opinion heard.
Friday April 9th in the year
Come vote for the outfit
to be worn by the princess.

Once Upon A Time...

there was a very pretty princess. She lived with her parents Dr. King and Queen of the Crop. Her parents were very proud of her. She was a well behaved kid and always did well in school.

One day the princess brought home midterms that were not up to par. The Queen merely said, "Fix it before report cards. This is just laziness. See what you can do." The princess spent a few late nights doing homework. The Queen was pleased, but still a little concerned about the impending report card on April 9th.

The princess came home from school one day excited about an upcoming dance. The Queen said, "Wear your new shirt and jeans we just bought." The princess pitched a royal fit and started spurting words such as "can't" and "looks awful" and "don't like." The Queen was not amused. The Queen knew they had just splurged on new items before their journey to Vegas AND a future trip to the village of Easton was already planned.

The princess decided to ask her grandmother for assistance. Of course she said she would take her. The Queen said "no." Then Dr. King said he would do it and set forth plans to take her. The Queen had flashbacks to the ugly ear piercing that Dr. King had permitted. Then Dr. King and the princess let another "cat out of the bag."

Dr. King had taken the princess and let her lay in the bed of impending doom {tanning bed}. The Queen has always been adament about her dislike of the bed. She went to her own bed feeling stressed and betrayed.

How does the Queen regain her power? What's next for the princess...nipple piercing? Stay tuned...

Here's How It All Went Down...

On Saturday morning we drove to WV to share Easter with a family of our cousins.

We brought our eggs along and colored them all together. Cutie's hand was dyed so blue she looked like she had squeezed a smurf a little too tight.

On Easter morning the Easter bunny brought lots of goodies for the girls. The bunny makes "boing" sounds and the chick makes "cheep cheep" sounds. Manga Dork's bag screams "Look at me..I am so chic." LOL.

Manga Dork's fave cousin hopped in her new car and went to attend church with her boyfriend.
Leaving her mom and dad with lil sis Beth. Her mom handled it better than I would have...

Um you are wondering why I would put this pic up...believe it or not...this was the best one. I kid you not. Wild Child's mouth is full of yellow egg yolk and Cutie's eyes are shut enjoying her ring pop. I am not sure what the rest of our exscuses are...

After church we went to eat at Outback. Dr. Hubby's crazy aunt came by our table and I can not possible explain this woman in a way that would give you the correct picture. Let's just say that by the time our meal was over I was SO stressed out that all my back muscles were tensed up and I rode in pain on the way home...I kid you not...again. This pic was taken by a tree in the Outback parking lot...by far my fave pic from the whole holiday.

We stopped at BIL and SIL's new home to hunt eggs. They are settling in well, but you can tell the kids are missing the farm.

Hope your Easter was a good one {minus the crazy aunt}!

A Tour of our Easter Home

My sweet little Easter couple greet you as you enter the back door...cause you know in the country "back door guests are the best." What is that smell? Well, that would be my Lilac candle by Village Candle {$7.99 @ TJMaxx}. Smells like spring!

Brightly colored towels hang from the stove. Yes, I am one of those people who will "hurt" you if you use the decorator towels...lol. Consider yourself warned...

In the dining room my newest Annalee additions take center stage...or at least center table. I love the little duckie asleep in the egg shell.

In the living room there are more Annalee duckies and bunnies...plus some easter grass and eggs.

In our small Cracker Barrel rocker sits another new Easter friend. Manga Dork made me the tiny quilt {with my mom's help} for our wedding anniversary when she was 6 or 7 years old.
We are headed to WV to spend quality time with family and friends. I hope your Easter is filled with a heartwarming church service, family gatherings, pretty new clothes, easter eggs, and FUN!
