We Love To Samba!

We only had one day of spring break so we decided to head to the movies to see RIO! Such a fun movie. The song and dance scenes are the best part. "Drop it...drop it...drop it low."

Have you seen it?
What did ya think?

Wild Weekend

On Saturday I took my 3 girlies to town for a GIRLS DAY! We ate lunch at Applebees {the littles call it the apple restaurant}. Then we went to TJMaxx where I found...
these adorable Betsey Johnson sunglasses! Then we hit the mall. Our mission was 3 Easter dresses...we got three dresses! Unfortunately it was 3 dresses for Manga Dork. I guess we should have been more specific in our goal...lol. The littles both wanted a dress with a Paris scene on it. They called it the hotel dress. I told them I understood...I love a good hotel too. ;) Unfortunately there was only one in their size.

We saw the movie HOP. The littles loved it...the teen leaned over in the middle of it and said, "Can I go to aeropostale while you finish watching this?" It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. If you don't have little kids...wait for the rental.

We ended the day at Bath and Body Works. I nearly peed my pants when I saw they have COTTON CANDY candles. Now they just need to make the bath products! I got 2 large 3wick candles, 6 handsoaps, 5 hand sanitizers, 2 plastic hand sanitizer hangy things, 3 shower gels, 2 lotions, and a body spray for $80! Alot of their current deals are the same ones they had on Black Friday! We got home at 11pm!

On Sunday Manga Dork and I went to the grocery store. Dr. Hubby took the littles to the tractor store with his friend and his 2 littles. They sneaked and watched DIARY OF A WIMPY KID 2! Unfair!

Cutie decided to "make herself beautiful." Wow!

I am halfway through the third book of the Hunger Games Trilogy. It is breaking my heart right now. I am lovin' it!

Happy Monday!

Teen Fun And Teen Not-So-Fun

My favorite high school senior arrived Friday afternoon. I was so excited to spend the long weekend with her here. We hopped in the Escalade {that is still not the same after the accident} and headed into town. We ate at Applebees...shopped at the mall and TJMaxx...and watched "Just Go With It." Btw...that movie is the best I have seen in a while...funny and romantic. Jenn Aniston and Adam Sandler are great together.

On Saturday I went to my first thirty-one party {fabric personalized purses, lunch totes, totes, etc}. Then we went to the grocery store. We ended the day with a pizza party and a Just Dance 2 Dance Off. Fun!
On Sunday we joined Dr. Hubby on a shopping trip at Cabelas. We entertained ourselves the best way we knew how. Fun photo time! We ended the day with a Game Night {from hades} at my inlaws. My 2 little ones were monsters and no one seemed to want to stay focused on the games. FAIL.

IMPORTANT TEEN PARENTING QUESTION!
Manga Dork is 15. She has a boyfriend. I have offered to take her, her boyfriend, and another couple on a "date." They can walk the mall and see a movie by themselves. This must be with me or Dr. Hubby chaperoning.
He can even come to our home for a couple hours, but they have to stay in a "public room." NO bedrooms. She is not allowed to go to her boyfriend's house. She is not allowed to go to a friend's house with her boyfriend or other boys.
She is very unhappy with these rules {which I take to mean I am getting it right}. She cried cause she wants to go on the "date" with another parent chaperoning. The same parent I saw this weekend who told me she was tired of running around town and that even though her daughter's boyfriend is not allowed to go to her house to hang out she was on her way home and "what his mom didn't know wouldn't hurt her" and "if he gets caught it is on him not her!"
So my question is...
What are the teen dating rules in your home?
or what will they be when your kid becomes a teen?

I "Bear"ly Kept It A Secret

Yesterday I took my 3 kiddos to meet up with my SIL, niece, and nephew. We didn't tell them what we were doing. My kids thought we were going grocery shopping.

When I pulled into the movie theatre parking lot I said, "We're going to see Yogi Bear!" They were all excited...even the teen.

It wasn't a great movie. I suggest waiting for the rental. But we did giggle.

They had a great day off school...and I got some pretty solid "mommy of the year points."

Did you do something special for your kiddos yesterday!?

Mega Cool!

We went to see MegaMind Saturday afternoon. We took our 2 fave cousins with us. They ALL {ages 4-17} loved the movie. They got in the car chattering about all the funny parts. I think we all agreed laying on the picnic blanket was our fave part...so sweet. I would actually go see this twice if given the chance...can't wait for the DVD.

Sorry about the fuzzy pic...a little person's finger changed my lens to manual focus and I didn't catch on.

THE MOUNTAIN DEW FREEZE MACHINE BROKE AT OUR FAVE THEATER AND THEY.ARE.NOT.BRINGING.IT.BACK! Yes, I am screaming.

Happy Weekend!
What is your favorite movie treat?

Mega Excited!

The girls and I are superexcited about the movie MEGAMIND coming out this Friday! It looks like such a fun movie.

Today Cutie Patootie got a "Metroman" in her McDonalds happy meal. Doesn't he look so heroic in our tree? I love when they put out toys from current movies....they don't feel like junk so much. The littles look forward to collecting them all...especially MEGAMIND himself.

**I did not receive anything for posting about this awesome upcoming animated film OR the cool toys from McDonalds...not even an extra french fry.**

You've Never Had It So Random {Summer Is Almost Over Edition}

Wild Child's leg is doing well. However, she may not have a butt left after scooting around the house on it. All consults are in and the growth plate is fine and the torn muscle should heal quickly.

I went to see Vampires Suck last Friday. It was very funny, but I wouldn't suggest going to see it unless you are a Twihard! They should have incorporated more of the other vampire themed movies/shows/books. My fave line "My family has learned to survive on the blood of animals...and the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Our fave cousins came and shopped with Manga Dork and I this weekend. Now I only need tennis shoes for the little ones and I will be completely done!

We start school on the 30th...Cutie starts preschool on Sept. 8th.

When you say things to or about people and then take them back....it is like hammering nails into a piece of wood. If you take the nails out you still leave holes. It is never quite the same.

We watched The Last Song on PPV the other night. Oh Nicholas Sparks....me thinks you need to quit making your books into movies. Although it was not nearly as mind-numbing as Dear John.

Is it possible to have a midlife crisis at 35? I feel mildly depressed and not sure about my path...

I am going to start trying more recipes in September. I made my first roast with potatoes, onions, and carrots this past weekend. It was yummy! If I keep enjoying it so much I may end up with my own show on Food Network. My tag line would be "Nom...nom...nom"...cause it irritates my teen! lol

Season Finale of New Jersey Housewives tonite! I hope it doesn't come off as "set up" and fake as some of the other things this season. I think I will put on cheetah and zebra print clothes...tease my hair...and eat some spaghetti!

Happy Monday!

And Another Feminist Hits The Floor

Yesterday Dr. Hubby and I took the 2 littles to the mall. While Dr. Hubby shopped for a new watch I took the girlies to see Cats and Dogs. Cutie says, "That is a veeerrryyy scary cat." Both of them were squirming in their seats for the last 20 minutes. I think it would be better for kiddos ages 7 - 11ish. It was fun though...the Hannibal Lechter references are hilarious!

Wild Child fell in love with this apron at TJMaxx. It was from a Mommy and Me set on clearance for $12! She grabbed a broom and went around sweeping the floor...June Cleaver would have been so proud...
Happy Monday!

The Speckled Me

Yesterday I took the 2 little ones to see the movie "Despicable Me." They were a little worried that it would be scary, but it wasn't. Wild Child told everyone she was seeing "The Speckled Me."

It was a cute movie. A little slow in the beginning, but things got going once the 3 adorable girls showed up. Because of our experience with fostering and adoption this movie tugged at my heartstrings. There were alot of laughs. I would definitely recommend taking the kids!

After the movie we went over to the mall play area. The girls went straight for the giant hot dog! After an hour of play Wild Child said she needed a Dr. Pespi. I cracked up. She says Dr. Pepper is her favorite...amen sister! She rarely gets caffeine, but I gave in today.
Are you going to see the new Cats and Dogs movie? Comes out Friday!

You've Never Had It So Random {MIA Edition}

Boy I can't believe it has been 10 days since my last post! I think that may be a record for me...lol. Here's a little of what I have been up to lately...

The kiddos have been enjoying summer! We bought a new slip and slide!

Wild Child has been driving me nuts with her mosquito bites. She keeps digging them into the blood...scratching off the scab...she's a bloody polka dotted mess. I threatened her with a trip to the ER with shots involved and she is finally letting them heal.

Dr. Hubby bought a new toy. A 1974 MG Midget. Riding in it is FUN, but it makes me feel FAT! lol

I made Julie's CHERRY PIE SALAD twice. Once for home and then again for Dr. Hubby's family reunion. YUM! Get the recipe HERE and prepare to fall in love with Julie and her blog.
Speaking of the reunion...we rode our 4wheelers to it and on the way back to my inlaws' home we got caught in a thunder storm. We were drenched...water drained from our clothes as we got off the 4wheelers...it was a blast!

Wild Child played her last tball game. We all wore matching team shirts to cheer her on this season!

After the game we ran into the WHS alumni parade. It kicks off alumni weekend in our little town. The 2 little ones ran around giggling and collecting candy thrown from the cars.
While getting new brakes on the Escalade I took the 3 girls to see TOY STORY 3. It was so good. Definitely take your kiddos to see it. I love hearing the little people giggles during a movie in the theater. The Disney Store has $5 plush TOY STORY 3 toys...we picked up Buttercup the Unicorn and Mr. Prickle Pants.
I visited my mom and dad for 4 days. I got to go shopping with my BFF Ruth and her sister. There are some great sales out there! Victoria Secret has Heavenly Flowers perfume at 75% off! The bottle I paid $48 for is now $12! I got me another one...
Hope all is well with you! I am off to read your blogs...

Weekend FUN!

On Friday we had our community yard sale. Thanks to some VERY bright sun I look like a lobster. Your Welcome...that's for not showing you a pic...lol.

On Saturday Cousin Kim and I took our 5 girls to eat at Cheddars and to the movies. They went to see Shrek in 3D and I took Wild Child and Cutie to see Marmaduke since we had already seen Shrek.

Marmaduke is SO cute...especially if your kids are as dog and cat crazy as my 2 littles. Owen Wilson is perfect for the voice of big loveable Marmaduke.

We hit a few stores. The kids played Rock Band while we shopped at Old Navy...so cute. I bought the Eclipse novella "The Short Second Life of Bree Turner." Can't wait to get started on it!
Hope you are having a great weekend too. Today I am taking Manga Dork and Cousin Kayla out on the town...
btw...the answers to your questions are coming soon! There is still time to go back and ask one in the comments on that post!

Ri"donk"ulously F.U.N.

This weekend we went to see Shrek Forever in Imax 3D. We liked it alot and laughed out loud several times. Rumpelstiltskin's wigs are my favorite funny part...I SO need an angry wig. They use my fave word too...RIDONCULOUS...only it is more like RI"DONK"ULOUS...heehee. On the previews we saw Marmaduke...out on June 4th that is our next movie! They had us at dancing dogs group number.

You've Never Had It So Random...{No Kids Edition}

It is weird not having the little ones under my feet. I keep hearing them say my name. Creepy.

I don't know if I am having a seasonal crisis...midlife crisis {a little early}...or an identity crisis. My "self" just feels off. I feel like I am questioning all my thoughts, beliefs, feelings, actions, etc. I can't seemBold to find my gRoOvE.

Last night Wild Child called and said she wants to come home. I better start scrapping FAST!

Manga Dork and I saw "Valentine's Day" yesterday...I was expecting STUPID...I LOVED it! The characters are all so likeable. We laughed...we said "Awww...how sweet." Such a cute film. Taylor Lautner actually has the line "I'm not comfortable taking off my shirt in public." I LOL'd. Lil Sis you have need to go see it NOW!

Dr. Hubby let Manga Dork pierce the top of her ear while I was innocently in a CRAFTS 2000 induced coma at the mall. When we got in the car and were driving out of the parking lot I had to stop the car and sit for 10 minutes...my blood was boiling. Both of them knew I was against it.

My BIL and SIL are moving off the farm this month. This makes me sad and mad. We could have had SO much fun, but it is ALWAYS drama. I guess I am mourning all the good times we could have had.

Happy Monday! {Prepare to be dazzled and amazed tomorrow by all my scrappy creations!}

You Aren't Gonna Want To Hear This {Unless Your Name Is Kristina P}

Dear John,

Your movie took up 2 hours of my life that I can never get back. Yawn.

You've Never Had It So Random...On A Tuesday In January

I still hate January.

{Bachelor Spoiler}Why does Jake the Bachelor seem a little "schmoo" on this season. I thought he was gonna cry on that bridge. Thank God he sent home "one on one time" obsessed girl...she frightened me.

American Idol...love cancer guy in first episode...he set off my "Mormon radar." Why? He said he had to return from a "mission" to be treated for cancer...and he is from Utah. I also like the black guy who takes care of his momma...he's a little reminiscent of Charles Grigsby from the Ruben/Clay season {I think that is the one}. And I totally agree...if your pants are on the ground...you look like a fool...priceless.

New episode of Vampire Diaries this Thursday.

I am addicted to Desperate Housewives...I've even brought Manga Dork and Dr. Hubby along for the ride...although he will completely deny it and look at you like you have lost your mind...just ask him about his "hulu search." heehee

We saw Avatar in 3D for date night this past weekend...very interesting...love the forest at night. My feet won't touch the floor in those new fancy reclining seats...my knee was killing me. A woman {thought for sure I was sitting in front of a kid} kicked my seat the entire movie. I thought the movie was a little long.

My computer was attacked yesterday and I am using Manga Dork's laptop...so pictures will be limited for awhile.

How did Lifetime celebrate Martin Luther King Day? With a day full of Jennifer Aniston movies! I would like to speak to the person in charge...I want to know the relevance.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

What random thought or question is roaming around inside your head?

Squeakin' Awesome!

Yesterday we took the 3 girls to see The Squeakuel. It was SO cute and FUN! If you have kids and/or are a "kid at heart" you should go to this movie!

The Chipettes help make this squeakuel better than the original...and that doesn't happen often.

The girls left the movie chattering and singing. They all want to see it again. Notice the Chipettes tshirts on the littles...Mom of the Year here I come...lol! However, I am sure points will be deducted for the lack of coats in the 20 degree temperature just so mom can see their shirts! Oops!
Have you seen The Squeakuel?

Chick Flick Double Feature!

Dr. Hubby brought home this DVD on Tuesday night! Jennifer Garner is my fave character...she has to be a sweet person in real life...she's so cute. The plot is a tad predictable...who am I kidding...it is WAY predictable! Still worth renting...

Last night Manga Dork and I brought home this DVD...Dr. Hubby worked late for some reason? LOL! This is a good movie to watch with the girls. I don't think it would rank as a favorite movie...but it is a fun one. Richard Dreyfus's "Irv" will steal your heart!
Happy Movie Watching!

You've Never Had It So Random

I have some pics that I took during my computer's photo uploading vacation that I really want to share. I also have several random things going through my head...

Cutie and me at the amusement park on Labor Day weekend.

Random thought #1 This past Wednesday I took Cutie to get some immunizations. They gave her 2 in one leg and 1 in the other leg. She freaked out and refused to walk for a couple days.

Dr. Hubby and Wild Child on my grandparents' front porch.

Random Thought #2...We watched "17 Again" last night. I loved it...such a cute movie, but I just couldn't see Matthew Perry as a grown up Zac Effron...don't get me wrong...I love Chandler Bing!

Manga Dork in my grandpa's VW.

Random thought #3...Dr. Hubby's aunt and uncle who are still punishing us for not letting her go camping in June invited Manga Dork to Dr. Hubby's great aunt's surprise bday party, and sent word that we could come too if we wanted. argh. This is getting "stupider" by the day.

Mr. NikonD60 can turn photos sepia. Daisy by the barbed wire fence on our farm.

Random Thought #4...My blood tests show that my thyroid medicine is working well, however, my cholesterol has not improved with my healthier diet. I am going to have to take another pill...this does not make me happy...I hate taking medicine.

Me in a store at Myrtle Beach.

Random thought #5...we booked our flight and hotel for New Orleans. We leave on Halloween! I just read that the New Orleans Halloween celebration is a gay-circuit celebration...argh. Now that should make for some interesting photos...

Dr. Hubby with Nephew at our county fair...I {heart} this pic of Dr. Hubby...he is so hot.

Random Thought #6...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
BIL agree to Lil Sis coming to New Orleans with me...I won't let her order the $5 orange juices...I will remove at least 2 items from all her food orders so she will stay within budget...I will split my meal with her...I WILL LET YOU HAVE THE WIN FOR MINI GOLF...I WILL NO LONGER MENTION THE WORD "TIE"...YOU WON!(if you let her go)
Happy Weekend!

Much Better Than A Regular Old Birthday Party!

Easton Town Center Kids Fest Pictures, Images and Photos

This weekend we went to the 2nd "Happiest Place on Earth." I took Manga Dork and her 2 BFFs to Easton in Columbus, OH. We stayed at the Hilton and did alot of this...

pf changs Pictures, Images and Photos

MMM... Cheesecake Factory Pictures, Images and Photos

max n ermas Pictures, Images and Photos

and even more of this...

forever 21 Pictures, Images and Photos

hot topic Pictures, Images and Photos

and we saw this...

I can do bad all by myself Pictures, Images and Photos

It was a good movie. You can expect the same things you get in any Tyler Perry movie...deep very serious themes with a sprinkling of Madea for some comic relief. My only complaint was that they put performances of songs (3 or 4) that seemed really long. I am not a fan of seeing someone sing a whole song in the middle of my movie. Gladys Knight plays a very likeable character and Mary J. Blige's character just seemed unnecessary.

On the ride home the girls couldn't come up with their favorite part of the trip...everything was just so fun. I am thankful my daughter has great friends. I think the shocker of the whole trip was me coming out of Archiver's with only $3.98 worth of merchandise...I had them check my temperature.

Where is your happy place?
Thank you photobucket for the photos...without you I would be nothing but words.

Suggestions Please!

Our downtime every evening is watching television. With the summer schedule I am finding myself bored. I have looked up several movies and requested them at the library...very frugal! A cool tip...look at the next month's DVD releases and check your library catalog for them...you can request them early and when they do come out you are at the top of the waiting list.

Here are 5 of my favorite movies...

Interesting concept...a single President. Talk about hard to find a date!

This movie has my fave actress...one of my fave actors...and is based on a book. Triple threat!
The dad in this movie is a great character.
If you take any of my suggestions...make this the one movie you watch! I could watch it over and over. Very touching movie...the book is good too! Meryl Streep is fabulous. I see myself in her character at times. Make sure you have tissues.

Cute...cute...cute! It has a coondog cemetary...enough said. LOL!

More Diane Lane...a great "starting over" movie.
Now I want your suggestions...what movie do you think I would enjoy? What movie could you watch over and over?
