You've Never Had It So Random (Christmas Edition)

I am loving all the Christmas movies. So far I have seen Once Upon A Christmas, Twice Upon A Christmas, Mr. St. Nick, Our First Christmas, Mrs. Miracle, Christmas Vacation, The Perfect Holiday, Holly and Hal...now that our Directv is fixed I set up bunches to record...Dr. hubby is going to be SO excited...NOT!

I put extra effort into my wrapping this year. I put bows and dangly snowflakes and pretty tags. I haven't done that since before Wild Child's first Christmas. She wouldn't leave them alone...so all our presents had the names written on the wrapping paper with zero embellishments.

Wild Child just came to me and told me to pretend I had a walkie talkie and then she went into the next room and pretended to be talking to me...I am glad Santa is bringing cute ones that look like cell phones.

Dr. Hubby put a present under the tree for me and it is KILLING me!

We are going to attempt to see the Festival of Lights tomorrow night...I hope it doesn't rain again...I want to mark another item off my list!

We are off to do more shopping this afternoon AND I get to see NEW MOON! WooHoo!

Tomorrow evening I have a babysitter and Dr. Hubby, Manga Dork, and I are going to FINALLY go see New Moon. I had almost given up hope. I can't wait to get out my tshirt and Esme prop replica bracelet! Wish Lil Sis was here...

Don't Always Worry About What Others Are Gonna Think!

Last year I threw myself a Twilight birthday party (that's the invite above). The movie premiered during my birthday weekend. Those of you who were reading my blog then probably remember that my party almost didn't happen because of other people's actions/attitudes. You can read about that HERE.

Well, I did not let the negativity ruin my party. It was a great time and I enjoyed planning every detail. You can see the fun HERE and HERE.

The point of this flashback is to talk about how I learned a lesson (again). If you read the linked posts you will know that very few were supportive of my party and some even laughed. Well...the other day my MIL and I were talking while we were on our way to Columbus. I told her about a project I am now working on...a list of 35 things I want to do while I am 35. She said...

"I think it is really neat how you do things that you want to do like that. Like throwing your own party last year instead of waiting on other people to do something...you made it something you really loved."

I almost wrecked the car.

The track list for New Moon is on twilightersanonymous.com! Just like the Twilight soundtrack I have no idea who most of them are...but I think Ok Go! is the band who did the treadmill dance video. No Paramore?! Thank goodness Rob P. is sticking to acting...his last song was HID-E-ODOROUS!

This Should Smell Good!

While checking out twilightersanonymous.com for the latest Twilight news I was so excited to see that Bath and Body Works is bringing out a new fragrance...Twilight Woods. It will be released on November 2nd, but you can get a travel size for $1 beginning Sept. 28th. These would be great additions to New Moon Premiere party gift bags!

Jon Gosselin {hearts} Kanye West

For months Jon Gosselin has prayed for someone to come along and do something so revolting that it would take some of the attention from him...someone stupid enough to earn the title "Biggest Douchebag On The Planet." Last night Jon got his wish...



Enter Kanye West...



Last night at the VMAs while Taylor Swift (19) was accepting her Best Female Video award Kanye jumps onto stage...takes the microphone from her and says, "Hey Taylor, I'm really happy for you, but beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." Sweet Taylor looked humiliated and was escorted off stage and the show stumbled and began showing the next clip. The rest of the night the crowd BOOed Kanye and chanted "Taylor."



At the end of the show Beyonce won Best Video of the Year. Her inner beauty showed brightly when she thanked them for the award and said she remembered receiving her first VMA at 17...then invited Taylor to the stage to finish her thank yous. How nice...

Kanye...the sound you heard when Beyonce gracefully handed her microphone to Taylor... was the last nail going in your coffin...



BTW...I nearly soiled the couch watching the New Moon clip. I am ready for November 20th!

500 Posts & Giveaway!

I did it! Wow! 500 posts! Boy have I come a long way with my blog...I went back to March 08 and read a few of my first posts and comments. It took me 21 days to get my first comment. I have gone from pictureless posts to posts with probably too many pics. I remember when I first learned how to add more than 5 pics to one post...LOL! The most comments I have recieved on one post is 46 (The Christmas In July Blog Hop).



I hope to add a few things to my blog in honor of 500...my new 3 columns are inspiring! I want to add my Bucket List and a Monthly Fun Things List. Does anyone know how to do the text to cross things off a list?

Tablescape Thursday

*I am out of town so my tablescape is a blast from the past...I am sure the Twilight addicts will enjoy!

My 34th birthday was the same weekend (Nov. 2008)that Twilight came out in theatres. So I gave myself a Twilight themed party! Here are the tablescapes...

I had bought black plastic martini glasses in the Halloween clearance. I used red plates, black napkins, and white utencils. I used vampire teeth as napkin rings.

The centerpiece was a huge red wire apple from TJMaxx...you should have seen me jumping up and down in the aisle over this find! I also spread out my collection of stickers.

This was the kids' table. I found the basket at The Dollar Tree.

I served AB+ soup (tomato) and mountain lion (ham), penguins, lovely (turkey), and irritated grizzly (roast beef) sandwiches. Dessert was birthday cake! Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ice Cream Cake from Brewsters! YUM!

Everything was disposable so we could make a quick getaway for Girls Nite Out! I couldn't wait to see the movie!

Now I can't wait for New Moon! Happy Tablescaping!

I've Held Back As Long As I Could...

I have not posted much Twilight Saga lately...I am getting SO excited about New Moon coming out in November. My bday is the 22nd so I am thinking I feel another party coming on....

This poster is Dakota Fanning who plays Jane, a wicked little member of the Volturi...I am excited to see her play this character. I just watched her in the Secret Life of Bees...which I highly recommend...she was fabulous!

Heehee....couldn't resist this tshirt...I want to wear this to see New Moon!

Edward Cullen...Diet Role Model!

After dinner the two little ones wanted a piece of a chocolate bar. I thought I could break off a couple squares and be ok...oh the yummy smell! I put it to my nose and inhaled...the muscles in my jaw twitched and I started salivating...

How does Edward do it? I would have eaten her already! LOL!

(I did not eat any of the chocolate bar)

"Oh No...Not You Too."

Poor Dr. Hubby was probably thinking those words in the car yesterday.

Actual Conversation

Manga Dork: I don't know what I am going to write my story about.

Wild Child: How about the beach.

Manga Dork: Hey, that's a good idea.

Scrappy: What type of story do you have to write?

Manga Dork: It can be fiction or a true story.

Scrappy: How about vampires at the beach...haha!

Wild Child: Vampires are scary.

Scrappy: Edward is a vampire.

Wild Child: Edward's not scary.

Scrappy: He's good looking and cute.

Wild Child: Yeah....and he's HOT too.

We all cracked up!

Manga Dork: She is DEFINITELY my sister!

Poor Dr. Hubby...he doesn't stand a chance of ridding his home of the Twilight bug!

MIL & Me

So I know that you all were shocked that MIL was going to DC with us. I was a little worried that she would drive me nuts! However, before we left I told myself that I was going to wipe the slate clean and try to revive our relationship.

Here is what I learned...

1. When MIL has the chance to spend time with Manga Dork...she wants me GONE!

2. She has no desire to do anything with me...just the 2 of us.

3. When I want to go do something under the perfect circumstances...she will turn me down. If given the chance to do the same thing under imperfect circumstances with Dr. Hubby...she will go without hesitation.

4. She can not go a day without talking to my SIL. Their phone conversations are alot more comfortable than ours.

I gave it a fair chance...I was so glad when we came home and she went to her house. I was sad...I had high expectations.

I invited her to go this weekend with my mom and I to the Scrapbook Expo...she told someone the other day that she felt good that my mom wanted her to go...my mom didn't even know I asked her. It was like she didn't want to acknowledge that I had invited her.

She has turned me down 3 times since the trip to go do things. When do I just throw up my hands and give up?!

Ok...Now I Can Get Excited...

FOR NEW MOON!

We just watched the Twilight DVD. Loved it all over again! The extended scenes were interesting...thank goodness they cut the Chinchilla droppings one! The deleted scene where Bella gives Edward "a taste" was weird...but enjoyable. AND the hot "bad vampire" scene was a little naughty! LOL! Hope you all enjoyed it all over again too! Now let's get on with the New Moon countdown....and my 35th birthday party! 11-20-09

Did Ya Miss Me?

The night we got home from DC our computer was taken out by a wind storm...they just fixed it today! That guy is lucky I didn't give him a big kiss! LOL! He was the same one who installed the satellite and asked me "How do you keep your house so clean with 4 kids!" He is an angel!

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day...my grandfather turned 88...yes, his name is Pat!

What have I been up to the last week and a half?! Well...I did no scrapping...I started spring cleaning...and since this past Saturday night til yesterday (Tues) I have been on my butt recovering from a virus and inner ear infection.

I have missed my bloggy friends alot! You came to my mind several times. This month I celebrated one year of blogging AND my 350th post! I took this involuntary bloggy vacation to reflect on how blogging affects my world. I discovered that blogging enhances my life alot and that it has been a positive experience. I did get more housework done...

Forbidden Fruits

While we were in Dayton Ohio I visited fye to check out the Twilight merchandise. They have some really cute things. I was so excited to see these boxes of conversation hearts with a Twilight twist. How cute! I bought Manga Dork a box...

Last night while watching The Bachelor I got me a few to try out. You may trust my opinion because I am a "non-chocolate candy connoisseur. I first noticed the poor quality of the messages. Most did not even show up. Then I popped one in my mouth and found out why they are called forbidden fruits...picture this....you are walking in the mall and pass by a hair salon...you immediately say "Phew! Someone is getting a strong perm!"....well that is the purple one! Ew!
