The Super Bowl Made Me Want To...

SHOP!

I would love to buy the following items for Toby the Shih Tzu from PoshPuppyBoutique.com...

New Orleans Saints Jersey $45.

New Orleans Saints Charm $20 {Would look so cute hanging from his black leather spike collar}
My husband would think I had lost my mind if I spent $65 on those two items. Too bad I am not a RAIDERS fan...that jersey is on clearance for $17. {Insert me laughing at my BIL Dave}
Congratulations to the GREEN BAY PACKERS! Mostly because they have saved me from having to see MORE Steelers merchandise and hearing the gloating of Steelers fans in our town.
**On Saturday I went to Walmart and there was so much Steelers crap...cupcakes, napkins, plates, underwear, balloons, etc. I had vowed not to come back out for the rest of the weekend. But when checking out I noticed the couple in front of me was decked out in Saints merchandise! Cool! I started talking to them and noticed the accent...she said they were originally from N'awlins. Oh I love hearing them say that. I want to go back to that town...love it!
Happy Monday!

Oh When The Saints Marched Into My Christmas

I am such a blessed spoiled girl. We had a fantastic Christmas. I will be sharing some of the fun this week while preparing to start a brand new year!

The New Orleans Saints were all over my Christmas. On the first night of parties {Thursday} I made a quick run to the library before picking up the party food {chinese}. I always peek in the "Free to good home" box to see what goodies I might find. Well, right there on top was the Sports Illustrated with Drew Brees on the cover! Score!

From there I went to my inlaws and all my gifts were Saints themed. Love this huge flag!
I wore this for the rest of the weekend. Even my BIL loved it...not! heehee

It is just fantastic when you can combine 2 obsessions...Longaberger Baskets and Saints! Even though my FIL and MIL had 2 boys, Dr. Hubby said this is probably the first time they have bought Sports Team items.
We gave Manga Dork a Reggie Bush jersey. And the last Saints themed gift came from the Saints themselves...
A 17-14 win over the Falcons! Yippee! Playoffs here we come!
Did you receive any team spirit gifts this Christmas?

Here Come The Buzzards!

Those of you who farm will know exactly what I am talking about here. I think it is so gross that buzzards are circling a day or two after a field of hay has been cut.

I guess it is because I know why they are circling. Poor little dead mice and rabbits and who knows what else. yuck. These guys are U.G.L.Y. They were posing like a contestant on America's Next Top Model...sorry guys...no cover of Italian Vogue or $100,000 contract with Cover Girl Cosmetics.

I found Wild Child asleep like this last night. I am so proud. GO SAINTS!

What have I been up to lately?

Friday evening we had a family of Dr. Hubby's cousins come for a visit.

We all attended niece's 11th birthday party. We gave her several small gifts including the book "Dork Diaries." It is written like the books "Diary of a Wimpy Kid." She finished all 283 {I think that is how many she said it had} pages in less than 24 hours.

God blessed us with a gorgeous snowy view from the farm. On Saturday morning we woke to about a foot of snow and no electricity. Luckily the electric came on after only a couple hours of being off.

On Sunday the kids finally ventured out to play....which made the teen look like this {nice hair...heehee} My 2 little ones are so weird when playing in the snow. They play games like...

Squash the dog {Poor Bandit}

Push the Snow With Your Tongue Races

Freeze Your Tongue To The Pole {Obviously she has never seen A Christmas Story}
We watched the Super Bowl on Sunday evening. I had no idea it was old folks night at the half time show...heehee. B.O.R.I.N.G. I was just praying there were no wardrobe malfunctions. Notice there are ZERO photos...I got so excited I forgot to take them. So I have special paper...and NO PHOTOS! Argh.

Here is my latest page...notice the little hand covering my name tag in the lower left corner. LOL!
Have a great week...stay warm...play in the SNOW! I'm gonna ignore the housework...and scrapbook!

Real or Fake?

A fake fan?

Am I a fake Saints fan?

Several people have questioned my...ummmm...what would you call it...intentions?...loyalty? I don't know.

But I do know WHY I am a New Orleans Saints fan.

When we traveled to New Orleans I fell in love...

with the people...their spirit. They are some of the most genuine people I have ever met. They have been to hell and back. You can tell they love their city, but they will also admit that living there is not easy.

with the city...it is such an interesting place. I love the streetcars...the artists performing on the streets...the history...the architecture. Bourbon Street...not so much. I consider that the black eye on the face of a wonderful city to visit.

with the excitement on Saints game day. You should be in NOLA on game day. The people are excited...they have something to feel proud of...something to give them hope for their city. They were 5-0 when we were there. Manga Dork bought all her super fan souveniers...and all of a sudden our family had a new interest.

football.

Ummm...we are not a sports family. I organized the stuff on my cell phone during the Yankees game. B.O.R.I.N.G.

But I found that I LOVE football. So who should be "my team." At one point everyone had to pick "their team." What makes a team "acceptable" for you to pick it? Why is "your team" the one you picked to cheer on?

Did you pick the one from your state? {That's not gonna happen...I may be new but I know BAD when I see it}. Did you pick the one the rest of your family cheers for? Did you pick the team that is having the best season?

I am a Saints fan. I chose them for the energy surrounding them. I felt it while I was there.

I had no idea they would go this far...so you can't say I like them just because they were doing so well. What are the chances they would go from winning just 5 games to playing in their first ever Super Bowl.

I AM a Saints fan...a real one.

I Found

I found my scrapbooking mojo...this is the first layout I completed in 2010. It is for a scraplift challenge at Scrap Sisters Studio. It also gives you an idea of how "behind" I am with my scrapping...this was Wild Child's 2nd birthday party...she turns 5 in March!

I found valentine chocolate suckers at Walmart like the ones I bought for Halloween and decorated. Beware...while they are cute...they taste like plastic. Yuck! I found this out AFTER the parties. Oops!

I found these adorable "hard" suckers at Walmart. They are $1 each, and the message is very pretty.

I nearly jumped up and down in the aisle when I found these marshmallow cupcake suckers...SO CUTE! I bought 3...but I don't think I can bear to see someone eat them...lol. These would be perfect for a birthday party too.

Congrats to the Saints who are Super Bowl Bound!
Who will you cheer for at the Super Bowl, Colts or Saints?
Do you have a party? or attend one?
