This was SO not funny...

We live in a VERY small rural town that has an annual yard sale in June. We have only lived here for 2 years and I am a little out of touch with things since I have been busy with the 2 babies. Now that they are older I thought I would join in and have a yard sale with everyone. Well for a couple weeks I have been cleaning out my home and basement. I have been organizing and pricing (with my cute neon price stickers) all our unwanted items. Hubby even put his trailer in the garage so I could lay my stuff out the night before and he could hook to it and pull it out in the morning. So sweet and helpful!
Well...hubby called when he got to work this morning and said that there were TONS of yard sales. My response, "Oooh good, just imagine what tomorrow will be like when it is the actual main day!" This evening my friend (who I thought was setting up with me on our farm) calls and says she set up at the fire dept. I told her that all my stuff was loaded on the trailer and ready to go. She is REALLY quiet and then says, "Umm...you do know that today is the only day they have the community sale?!"
Needless to say, I did not. Sooooo....I guess all my work was for nothing and I feel like crying in my Diet Coke. One of three things is going to happen. A. I pack everything in the Escalade and haul it to Goodwill. B. I put stuff in basement and wait for Fall Community Sale (From what I hear this one doesn't do very well though) C. I advertise and have one by myself.
Right now I refuse to look in the garage at the trailer and I am going to bed. Brighter Side= My house is cleaner!
Happy Friday!

Check it out....And a Question

My 12 year old daughter started her own blog. She is nuts over Manga and Anime books. I told her I would post her address so everyone can check her out. She is very excited!
Okay I was listening to the TV for background noise while I clean today. Boy there are some annoying commercials. I think my vote for most annoying goes to the commercial for Pediasure (I think or some other nutritional supplement drink). It is the one where the little girl and her mom are grocery shopping and she keeps saying, "I don't think I like that" in a really little whiney voice. LOL! That is so annoying. I just want to invite her over and make her eat brocolli! The most catchy tune in a commercial seems to be the Free Credit Report.com guy. I found myself singing it several times.
So, Question of the Week.......What commercial do you find the most annoying?
Happy Thursday!

Frustration and a complete inability to let it go...

Ok, I will warn you now. I am about to vent...

Today our foster son's social worker came to pick him up for a Dr. visit. We had all just gotten up and we were all still in our pjs when she arrived. She looked at our 2 year old and said, "Aren't you cute. Your hair is so pretty. I believe this is the best I have ever seen you look. You usually have food all in your hair."

WHAT!?!?!?!

OMGosh! I have no idea where that came from and I was just shocked. When she is at our home we usually are not dressed in our best because we are living our daily routine. However, our 2 year old's naturally curly hair was NOT looking great when she just got up this morning. Soooo...for her to think that was her best look is WEIRD!

I have had this on my mind all day. I tend to dwell on things. I even watched "Blonde and Blonder" with Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson and it didn't take my mind off of it. LOL! Yes, that movie is just as dumb as you think it would be. I love a dumb movie every now and then. I miss Pauly Shore!

Anyway, I am now concerned that they are trying to come up with reasons not to place our foster son with us for adoption. We are struggling with this decision but I do hope they don't try to make it for us. Especially if they have to make things up. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried though. Foster parenting tends to make you bitter at the system.

I am sorry but I had to get this out. Hope you are having a Happy Wednesday!

FINALLY! My Computer Came Home!

Well, I am officially "BUG-Free" and my computer is well again. I have missed blogging SO much. The few times I was able to get on here were not enough! I look forward to catching up with everyone.

While in Blog Limbo I came up with some things I would like to do with my blog to make it more interesting. I definitely enjoy sharing my weight loss journey and my cardmaking so I will continue to do so. I also love to share photos so I am thinking of doing a Photo of the Day/Week.

My kids are out of school for the summer. Today is their first day of freedom. I love coming up with a new schedule. So far they are walking around like zombies. This is where I will start coming up with stuff for them to do (usually housework) when they look bored. You would be surprised how fast this kicks them out of the zombie routine and into finding things to do on their own. LOL! You have to be a sneaky Mom!

Happy Tuesday! (I REALLY miss AI)

Back home....Back on diet

We are back home now. Our vacation was great! Even Dr. Hubby relaxed. That is a miracle. LOL! It seems this year is going to be marked with some type of trip or event each month. We have a Foster Parenting conference to attend in June and NYC in July. In August we are going back to my sister's home (Just me, our 12 year old, and my Mom). I am really looking forward to that trip. We are flying so there will be no 11 hours in the car! YAY!

In September our 12 year old turns 13 and we are having a HUGE party. We are going to do an 80s Dance Club theme with a DJ. We are going to hand out friendship bracelets with the invites to get in. There is even going to be a drink (NA of course) named after the birthday girl. It is going to take lots of planning, but it is going to be so much fun.

I came home and got right back on my diet. 50 pounds by June 30th OR BUST! LOL!

Happy Wednesday!

Still vacationing

Today is the last day of our trip to NC. Yesterday we went to the beach. We had the BEST time. Last year we spent 45 minutes with 2 screaming babies who were NOT going to like the beach NO MATTER WHAT! LOL! This year they had a blast. We built sandcastles, flew a kite, and played in the water. It was actually RELAXING! Then we went and played mini golf and rode the go karts. Today we did a little shopping and ate at IHOP. I have never eaten there and NO I will not share what I ate. LOL! We ended the day with a trip to the playground. This community is so blessed with a HUGE wooden playground. I wish we had something like it.

Sis and I went over some of our NYC plans for July. It makes me very excited. We booked our plane tickets too! Tomorrow we will be driving 11 hours back to the farm. After 4 nites on an air mattress I am going to sleep like a baby in my bed.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.

At my sister's house

Well, I am at my sister's house. I did not make it to 50 pounds BUT I am at 40 pounds and thats not too bad! I have tried not to be too bummed and I have redone my goal of 50 pounds by June 30th!

I was TOTALLY satisfied with the AI finale. I am really looking forward to David Cook's first CD!

Today we traveled to Wilmington, NC. We visited the aquarium at Fort Fischer, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and a cute little zoo. It was our 2 babies first experience with zoo animals. They were VERY cute.

3 days.....10 pounds

Well, as you can see by the title I am not going to make my goal of 50 pounds by the time I go to visit my sister. I am a little bummed. Stress has taken over and I am just in a holding pattern. The good thing is...I refuse to go backwards. My new goal is to reach 50 pounds by June 30th. I figure that is a good attainable one since that will be 1/2 a year of dieting and 1/2 the weight I want to lose!

I am so excited about the Idol finale. We are having an AI finale party on results night. I hope David Cook wins! This is about as unpredictable as the Reuben/ Clay finale.

I have been making lots of cards and I hope to share LOTS soon.

17 days.....10 pounds

I am still not up and running at home so I am at the library AGAIN. This is a pain. Hubby is dragging his feet getting computer fixed. Argh! LOL! I miss blog surfing and everyone I "spy" on.

American Idol was ok last night. I thought..........David Archuleta did the best. I hate to admit it. Something was up with David Cook. He seemed "down." I hope they mention something tonight about what was wrong. I think it will be crazy if Jason Castro doesn't leave. He did HORRIBLE and seemed to think it was funny. I don't blame Simon for being a little ticked at him.

My diet has been a little off track. We have to decide whether to adopt our foster son by May 12th. Our other adoptions have been so easy but adding a fourth child is not such an easy decision. There are so many issues that I am not even sure what is going to happen. Our 12 year old is against it and that is one of the biggest things holding us back. All this has caused me to eat "irrationally" because I am a stress eater. I am back on track as of today!

Happy Wednesday!

19 days.....10 pounds

I am still having computer problems. Hubby brought his laptop home from work so I could get a quick fix for my blogging withdrawl.

I am still doing well on my diet although I have had a couple "off" days. I am still hoping to hit 50 by the 23 rd! Congrats on maintaining this week Lawanda. I have found that I am getting sick of thinking about food, weight, water, exercise, calories, fat grams, and all the other "dieting" things. I look forward to reaching my goal and not having to concentrate so hard on it. I know I will always have to watch, but I hate that it takes up so much of my thoughts and time. I look forward to making a New Year's resolution that has nothing to do with my weight! I can move on to something else. How exciting!

Seeing Brooke go from AI this week was so sad. I know she needed to go, but this was the closest I have come to tearing up. I am looking forward to the finale.

Our Stampin' Up card club is making "manly" cards this month. Hmmmm.....that will be challenging. I am such a girl and working with "manly" colors isn't my strength, but I look forward to seeing what I can come up with. Especially since my stamping stuff is all boxed up and ready to go to my schoolhouse when I get it done.

Well, I hope to soon be back on a daily basis. Have a great week!
