Happy Father's Day!

What are you doing special for your Dad or the Father of your kids? Tell me all about your Father's Day celebration! Post a comment to this post. Then Monday night at 9 pm eastern I will set up a poll using my 4 favorite comments. Then everyone can vote for their favorite until Friday night at 9 pm eastern. The winner will receive some goodies to help scrapbook about their celebration!

We gave hubby a RELAX basket. It had 2 Gun magazines, a Cabellas magazine, a Dad's Old Fashioned Root Beer, Dove chocolates, and a DVD of 3 of Kevin Costner's movies. He loves Dances with Wolves!

Have a great Sunday!

When it rains....It Pours

We are still continuing all the fun with the cousins. We invited Manga Dork's 2 BFFs over and had a late night waterballoon fight. They were so funny. Wild Child and Cutie Patootie would only throw pink balloons.
On Friday, Mother In Law and I took my 4 kids, the 2 cousins, and the 2 BFFs to the local pool. It was my first time there. I have only swam in a public pool once and I ended up with pink eye. Not fun. They all had a great time. Cutie Patootie took up for Wild Child against a little boy trying to steal her rubber ducky. The sight of it touched my heart and I ended up in tears.
Friday night we had a rough thunderstorm. I was hoping it wouldn't blow our new trampoline off the hill! We have such rough winds we are going to anchor it down. Luckily, it was still there this morning.
I woke up this morning with terrible PMS. I have always had a rough time, but it seems to be getting worse. When I went to the gyno she showed me a chart and asked me to name the symptoms off that chart that I was having. Simple....ALL OF THEM! LOL! She offered medication, but I want to try some other things before taking medicine. My mood swings are the hardest to deal with because I know this affects my family (not just me). I try my best, but I know I am cranky and I CRY constantly. Do you know any tips on dealing with PMS?

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday! Don't forget tomorrow is Father's Day!

Retail therapy...exhaustion...and a tribute to Scratchy the Squirrel

Yesterday I took our foster son for his weekly therapy session and then I went and did a little RETAIL THERAPY of my own. I went to Bath and Body Works and took advantage of their semi-annual sale! If you do not hit this sale you are missing out! Then I went to Michaels and used my 50% off coupon on an embossing folder for my Cuttlebug machine. I know it is not a big item to use for a 50% off, but I don't need anything else. Did I just say that?! LOL!

Next I went to my FAVORITE STORE in the whole world. I kid you not, I get a sense of calm and can feel myself relax when I walk through the doors. My fave purchases from the past: Kathy Van Zeeland purse, Betsey Johnson sunglasses, Baby Phat sunglasses, and my Tommy Hilfiger beach towels. Gee I sound like such a label hoe. LOL!
Today was exhausting! After all the fun I had yesterday I had to really behave myself and clean the house. The laundry is just hopeless. I had 4 loads of just TOWELS! That should be illegal.

Scratchy the Squirrel

Rest In Peace
Early in the afternoon all the kids had a basket running laps around the house. They informed me that they were going to catch a squirrel. They finally gave up. Later this evening, Sebastian the Yellow Lab finished the job for them. Our 3 year old threw a fit and had Dr. Daddy get the squirrel from the dog. Then (with latex gloves) he carries it in the garage to get her to stop crying. She then BEGS Dr. Daddy to "scratch the squirrel to save him." Dr. Daddy scratches the squirrel. When that doesn't work she takes the gloves and scratches it too. After a few scratches she turns, removes the gloves and says, "Now he is happy." She goes back to the trampoline and is fine. Strange. It was pretty funny to see Dr. Hubby scratching a dead squirrel with his gloves. Sadly, that is probably not the weirdest thing he has ever treated! LOL!
Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here.

Sh! Don't Tell Anyone...my rep would be ruined!

Guess what I was doing around midnight last night! Yep, I was flying down the Slip and Slide! Guess what I was wearing! LOL!

Don't pretend like you don't know what Granny Panties are! The girls (12 year old, 2 visiting cousins, and BFF of 12 year old) and I went out in our undies and Tshirts and had a blast! We couldn't quit laughing. Although when hubby pulled in the driveway I think he thought I had lost my mind! (REMINDER: We live on a 101 acre farm so we had complete privacy!)
BTW, Lil' Sis (who would have loved to have joined us for the slip and slide) got us tickets to be in the studio audience of the Conan show on July 15th during our NYC trip. I have not watched him since 1995 while I was in labor with 12 year old (That sounds painful! LOL!). Being in a "studio audience" is one of my bucket list items.

I have had a great time with the kids. I feel like my body has been beat against the ground 10-15 times (Slip and Slide) and I am a little tired, but other than that we are having a blast.

Hope everyone is enjoying summer!

My Lil' Sis was talking about staying in this fantastic hotel this past weekend and it made me think about my most embarrassing moment EVER! When we were staying at the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Orlando, FL we decided to go to the hot tub (My hubby, Lil' Sis, 12-year-old, and me). The hot tub is one of those sunk in the ground like a in-ground swimming pool. Well, I start to take my shoe off and the next thing I know I am hitting the HOT water head first. I guess I lost my balance or something! It must have been pretty funny because they were all dying laughing and even had a little trouble asking me if I was ok. I actually started laughing too! What was your most embarrassing moment?

Today I took all 6 kids to a dentist appt. for our foster son. Then we went to McD's (where else do 6 kids want to eat!). Then I braved the library to get them signed up for the summer reading program. It felt SO good to come home and pass out!

Happy Monday!

Happy Upsa Daisy Day!

Today is National Upsa Daisy Day! Today is the day that everyone is supposed to wake up with a smile on their face! Did you? I can't help but smile first thing every morning. Our 2-year-old gets me up with her blanket still stuck in her mouth!
As of last night I have 6 children instead of 4! We have 2 cousins (15 years and 8 years) visiting for a week. So now I have ages 2,3,8,8,12,15. AHHHH! What was I thinking! LOL!
Hope you have a sunny Sunday!

This was SO not funny...

We live in a VERY small rural town that has an annual yard sale in June. We have only lived here for 2 years and I am a little out of touch with things since I have been busy with the 2 babies. Now that they are older I thought I would join in and have a yard sale with everyone. Well for a couple weeks I have been cleaning out my home and basement. I have been organizing and pricing (with my cute neon price stickers) all our unwanted items. Hubby even put his trailer in the garage so I could lay my stuff out the night before and he could hook to it and pull it out in the morning. So sweet and helpful!
Well...hubby called when he got to work this morning and said that there were TONS of yard sales. My response, "Oooh good, just imagine what tomorrow will be like when it is the actual main day!" This evening my friend (who I thought was setting up with me on our farm) calls and says she set up at the fire dept. I told her that all my stuff was loaded on the trailer and ready to go. She is REALLY quiet and then says, "Umm...you do know that today is the only day they have the community sale?!"
Needless to say, I did not. Sooooo....I guess all my work was for nothing and I feel like crying in my Diet Coke. One of three things is going to happen. A. I pack everything in the Escalade and haul it to Goodwill. B. I put stuff in basement and wait for Fall Community Sale (From what I hear this one doesn't do very well though) C. I advertise and have one by myself.
Right now I refuse to look in the garage at the trailer and I am going to bed. Brighter Side= My house is cleaner!
Happy Friday!

Check it out....And a Question

My 12 year old daughter started her own blog. She is nuts over Manga and Anime books. I told her I would post her address so everyone can check her out. She is very excited!
Okay I was listening to the TV for background noise while I clean today. Boy there are some annoying commercials. I think my vote for most annoying goes to the commercial for Pediasure (I think or some other nutritional supplement drink). It is the one where the little girl and her mom are grocery shopping and she keeps saying, "I don't think I like that" in a really little whiney voice. LOL! That is so annoying. I just want to invite her over and make her eat brocolli! The most catchy tune in a commercial seems to be the Free Credit Report.com guy. I found myself singing it several times.
So, Question of the Week.......What commercial do you find the most annoying?
Happy Thursday!

Frustration and a complete inability to let it go...

Ok, I will warn you now. I am about to vent...

Today our foster son's social worker came to pick him up for a Dr. visit. We had all just gotten up and we were all still in our pjs when she arrived. She looked at our 2 year old and said, "Aren't you cute. Your hair is so pretty. I believe this is the best I have ever seen you look. You usually have food all in your hair."

WHAT!?!?!?!

OMGosh! I have no idea where that came from and I was just shocked. When she is at our home we usually are not dressed in our best because we are living our daily routine. However, our 2 year old's naturally curly hair was NOT looking great when she just got up this morning. Soooo...for her to think that was her best look is WEIRD!

I have had this on my mind all day. I tend to dwell on things. I even watched "Blonde and Blonder" with Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson and it didn't take my mind off of it. LOL! Yes, that movie is just as dumb as you think it would be. I love a dumb movie every now and then. I miss Pauly Shore!

Anyway, I am now concerned that they are trying to come up with reasons not to place our foster son with us for adoption. We are struggling with this decision but I do hope they don't try to make it for us. Especially if they have to make things up. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried though. Foster parenting tends to make you bitter at the system.

I am sorry but I had to get this out. Hope you are having a Happy Wednesday!

FINALLY! My Computer Came Home!

Well, I am officially "BUG-Free" and my computer is well again. I have missed blogging SO much. The few times I was able to get on here were not enough! I look forward to catching up with everyone.

While in Blog Limbo I came up with some things I would like to do with my blog to make it more interesting. I definitely enjoy sharing my weight loss journey and my cardmaking so I will continue to do so. I also love to share photos so I am thinking of doing a Photo of the Day/Week.

My kids are out of school for the summer. Today is their first day of freedom. I love coming up with a new schedule. So far they are walking around like zombies. This is where I will start coming up with stuff for them to do (usually housework) when they look bored. You would be surprised how fast this kicks them out of the zombie routine and into finding things to do on their own. LOL! You have to be a sneaky Mom!

Happy Tuesday! (I REALLY miss AI)
