A Very "Creamy" Debate

The other day I picked up a package of creme horns for my dear Dr. Hubby. He {hearts} them. The other night he was eating one and offered me a bite. Trying to be funny? sexy? I took my tongue and barely tipped it to the icing on the end. Then Dr. Hubby tried to get me to take a bite again. I did not want it. He goes over and tears off the end section I had barely tipped the tip of my tongue on. Then HE THROWS IT IN THE TRASH!

I was hurt. He would not eat it. I felt like he thought I was germy. I then declared a complete ban on anything involving my tongue.

The next day he decided to ask "the office girls" during lunch. He says they agreed it was gross and they would have torn it off too. Don't even get me started on how I feel about him mentioning my attempt at "humorous sexy." Won't be showing my face in there for a while!

I can totally understand his reaction if I would have licked down the entire pastry!

So my question to you is...

If your spouse or significant other tipped their tongue to the end of your creme horn...what would you do?

Finding A "Moment" Each Day

During the school year our evenings tend to be chaotic and rushed. I wanted to find a moment among the homework, dinner, playtime, crankiness, showers, etc. to connect with my littles. Manga Dork and I talk and watch tv together after they have been put to bed.

I decided to go to our library's webpage and request several books from the Scholastic book flyer. A couple days later I popped into the library and picked them up at the counter...it took maybe 5 minutes total.

The littles wrapped up in their blankets and got comfy. They love when I read to them.

I chose Thanksgiving themed books this time. Wild Child's favorite was "Run Turkey Run." Cutie preferred "Twas the Day After Thanksgiving." We ALL agreed that "Over The River: A Turkey's Tale" was our least favorite. The pictures were a little creepy.

Going Straight To Christmas

My mom made me 6 of these placemats for my dining room table. The Mary Engelbreit fabric is the same that we used on the curtains.

Yesterday I took Cutie to speech therapy. I decided to take a side trip to TJMaxx. I love looking through their cute paper plates and napkins. I can't wait to use these at a Christmas party.

This adorable wall hanging makes me think of scrapbooking. It was only $6.99...and jumped in my cart on it's own.

I really really really wanted a purse...specifically a Dooney and Burke one...red with Scotty dogs. I had admired them at Macys when they first came out. I had it in my buggy and then upon further inspection I realized it had a huge scratch on the back...bummer. I reluctantly put it back on the shelf.

Have you checked out the Christmas aisles at Walmart? They have an aisle of glittery ornaments in every shape and size...organized by color...only $1 each! I love the church and key best! They have large clip on poinsettias...$1. And a section for mini trees...again organized by color...hot pink cupcake ornaments! It takes alot to get me excited about Walmart so check it out!

Chicken Dumplings For Breakfast

Friday night we arrived at my parents' home. We were so excited to see these 2 people and their furbaby!

We spent Saturday together until 2:30ish cause they had to leave for a wedding. We have to share them with his family.

After they left we got ready and headed to the mall with mom. I now vividly remember why I hate shopping at the mall with my 2 little ones. I wanted to throw myself in the floor and have a mommy tantrum.

On Sunday we attended church...felt so good to see everyone and to hear the preachers. Cutie fell asleep.

Then we headed to my grandparents' home where I ate WAY TOO MUCH! Mustard greens, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, chicken n dumplings, apple butter, corn bread...yum!

Now I am back home eating chicken n dumplings for breakfast...don't judge me.

PS...when going on a 4 hour road trip be sure to take more than one DVD...and if you have to take only one...make sure it is NOT Mary Poppins. We now all know every lyric to every song and will be traveling and performing as a family...NOT!

Ok, so maybe she is coming to my parents' home to drop off this furry ball of cuteness...

because my BIL and her are going DOWN UNDER! They will be spending 2.5 weeks in AUSTRALIA soon. So jealous...

I can't wait to see them, and my parents, and my grandparents. I get to go to our church AND afterward I will be eating my grandma's chicken n dumplins! Yummo!

Vampire Diaries! Tonight we get to meet the "fresh blood."

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills! I don't think any further explanation of my obsession is needed. I can't wait to see the $50,000 Tea Party for Taylor's 4 year old's birthday. We are having a tea party for Cutie's 5th birthday in January...but our budget is just a smidge lower...lol.

And last but not least....Andy Cohen's got the 411 on Watch What Happens Live! I totally can't remember who his guests are tonite...Kyle Richards?

Mega Excited!

The girls and I are superexcited about the movie MEGAMIND coming out this Friday! It looks like such a fun movie.

Today Cutie Patootie got a "Metroman" in her McDonalds happy meal. Doesn't he look so heroic in our tree? I love when they put out toys from current movies....they don't feel like junk so much. The littles look forward to collecting them all...especially MEGAMIND himself.

**I did not receive anything for posting about this awesome upcoming animated film OR the cool toys from McDonalds...not even an extra french fry.**

Scrappin' The Latest

The other day I mentioned I am a chronological scrapper AND that I am currently on May 2007. Well, I have decided to shake things up and switch back and forth. I am going to scrap one event from 2007 and then a more current one. I decided to start with Halloween 2010.

I am sure alot of these photos look very familiar. This paper is holographic...but it doesn't show that in the photo.

This layout was from a Stampin' Up workshop I did a couple years ago. Speaking of that group, I have decided to keep my blog here and I am done with the drama. The End.

Practically In The Middle Of The Street

Some of you may remember me posting about the group of ladies I used to get together with to make cards once a month. I couldn't figure out why all of a sudden I was not being invited and my Stampin' Up consultant was acting really chilly when I called to ask for a new catalog.



Last Thursday night after the parade of costumes in our little town I saw one of the girls and decided to finally ask what had happened.



I asked, "Do you have any idea what I might have done to "K"?" I told her I was hurt and worried I had done something to make her mad.



She kind of stuttered around at first and then her face totally changed and she got real, "It was your blog." What?! She said, "We had seen how you were talking about your MIL and were all worried you would talk about things we said about people." I think she even said something about how things get around our small town.



It is no secret on my blog that I had a very rough time with my MIL and still do from time to time. I used my blog to vent so I wouldn't start WWIII in our family. I am not sure how they could think "things would get around our small town" when on my blog I don't use my real name or location. Other than a family member or 2 she was the only one with my blog address. This is also the reason I know SHE had to tell the others about my posts...they don't read my blog.

I realized I was standing in the street and traffic had started to go through. I numbly walked back to Dr. Hubby's office. Then...I lost it. I did the "ugly cry." I was heart broken. Who do they think they are? I kept picturing them sitting around the table discussing how they need to "protect" themselves from me. I felt so betrayed.

I cried through the KFC drive thru...I cried when I called my mom and told her the story...I cried when Dr. Hubby and I were discussing it. Manga Dork was so mad. She had attended the workshops with me and felt betrayed by these ladies too. The next morning my eyes were so swollen, but I was past being sad...I was mad!

I had enjoyed the workshops so much. I thought these ladies were my friends. I had put my all into everything I created for our swaps. I had seen 4 of them out and about and had given them a big hug...genuinely happy to see them. I had even hugged the one in the middle of the street! They each made exscuses for why there had been no workshops. They had all talked to me like nothing had happened. Fake.

I am over it now. Knowing what I know now...you could not pay me to have anything to do with these women. They were not my friends. Their gossip is safe now that I am not there to post it on my blog that no one they know reads. I am sure I will be the topic of the next get together. Well, I hope they recognize how I stood up for myself...how I know things were twisted...how the only thing I posted about them on this blog was how I didn't know what I had done wrong to be excluded...how they handled things WRONG!

If they will throw me under the bus for such a stupid reason...it is only a matter of time before they pick someone else to go under there with me.

I am left with a dilemna. I do not want anymore of my words twisted. I actually don't want them to have access to anymore of my thoughts. I do not want to go private. Should this be the end of this blog? Should I take this opportunity to create a new blog...a new start? Do you think this is wimpy and I should just not care if they are reading it? Don't worry...I will take all my bloggy friends with me! I need your opinions! Help!

Scrappy Saturday And Some Randomosities

This past Saturday my moods were completely out of whack...thats a weird saying. Anyway, we really didn't have any plans and our Halloween festivities were completed already. I mentioned I would just love to lock myself in my schoolhouse and scrap WITHOUT any kiddos. Well, an hour later Manga Dork was shopping with friends and the 2 little ones were at their grandparents. Dr. Hubby was doing some farmwork. And I....was living my wish!

I popped "Meet The Parents" in the DVD player...opened up an ice cold Diet Dr. Pepper...and sat down in the middle of a huge mess of scrappy supplies to CREATE!

The lighting was very much bad for these photos. Both layouts were inspired by sketches from Creating Keepsakes magazine. I scrap all my photos and I scrap chronologically...I am on May 2007! Help!

This time was just what the doctor ordered!

On Sunday we went out for dinner. We let the kids choose. It was Wild Child's turn to pick. She chose Burger King because they have "seeds on their cheeseburgers."

Did you know Jan Karon released another Father Tim novel? It is called "In The Company of Others." I bought it and plan to start it as soon as I am finished with "Mini Shopaholic."

Coming later this week...you never know what is going to happen in the middle of the street.
