Winning & Losing

The other day I made these 2 cards for a challenge on the AMR board. We had to make a Valentine card for a soldier serving in Afghanistan. I had so much fun making it...I made 2. I thought it fit well in my goal to be a "better" member of the community/citizen.

Well, those 2 cards won me all this great loot! I was SO excited!

Dr. Hubby took me to lunch at one of my fave restaurants. We do not have a PF Changs in our area so it was a special treat! Dr. Hubby felt $60 was a bit much for lunch...he is probably right...but it was SO yummy!

This evening we went to TJMaxx and picked up food from Wendys. Even with the yummy lunch I have done well on my diet! Speaking of diets...Manga Dork is trying to lose 2 pounds while I am on my trip. If she loses it she will get a new outfit...pop over to her blog and cheer her on!

Old Habits Die Hard

Sorry about the sideways photo...I will fix it when I get home! This laptop is making me crazy!

This is my luggage packed and ready to go to Cleveland. I love my luggage! The weekender and boarding bag are by Diane vonFurstenburg. The cosmetic carryall is by...

Betsey Johnson! I love her quirky style and use of color! All my bags were purchased at TJMaxx. Gotta love it! Which by the way is right across the street from our hotel!

This is the VERY uninteresting view from our room window. Still looks VERY cold!
I woke up this morning at 7:30 am with Dr. Hubby and he went downstairs at 8am. I turned off all the lights and got cozy under the covers...and then got back up at 8:15! I could not go back to sleep. That usually happens on the first morning. Now tomorrow is another story...see ya at noon! LOL!
It costs $11 for a bowl of cereal and a glass of juice...no thanks! I think I will venture out for lunch. So my breakfast = Diet Coke. LOL!
TGIF!

Hello From The Hilton!

Dr. Hubby and I arrived at the Hilton in Cleveland tonight. It is a "chilly" 2 degrees here! It is a pretty nice hotel...the best features are the TJMaxx and PFChangs across the street! LOL! I am trying my best to behave with my diet and I have been successful so far.

I am looking forward to spending romantic time with my hubby, sleeping til noon, reading, writing, watching tv, blogging, and exploring with Dr. Hubby in the evenings. There is an Archivers (scrapbook superstore) 30 minutes away! I will try to share photos while I am still here if I can figure out this laptop.

Have You Seen This Masked Bandit?

While we were at the schoolhouse Cutie Patootie was very quiet so I went looking for her. I found her like this hiding under her table. Argh. Thank God for washable markers.
And of course the first thing I did was run for my camera...

I wonder if a photo shoot sends the wrong message about bad behavior?!

Memo to self: Brush children's hair.

My Furry Face...and more

SPOILER WARNING: This post contains my opinions on Tuesday's American Idol and OC Housewives.
013/365
Annie Louise is my fave mutt ever! She is such a good dog. She sleeps on a flowery pink/green bed in front of a wall heater in the garage. She is an "outside" dog...mainly because if she is startled she pees. LOL! Her hobbies are running laps around our home, killing rats in the barn, and demanding my attention and love. It is fun to refer to her as the smartest dog on the farm (she really is) around the men. They think their hunting dogs are SO much better. LOL! I think it gets under their skin a little.

Last night I was READY to welcome back a favorite of mine...
Yes, it is a new season of American Idol!
My faves from Phoenix(out of the ones they showed)...the nursing home girl & the oil rig guy
The funniest...the elastic legs African American dude
I think it is ridiculous that they put through the bikini girl...and showed her so much.
Ryan should have pushed her into the pool when she kissed him!
And in OC Housewives world...
Tamra & Simon had a formal dinner party at their home. The ladies all looked beautiful. Lynne is still very odd...and I think it is hilarious that Vicki thinks she is "high." LOL!

The saddest part of the evening (apart from the teenage drinking in the beginning) was Gretchen getting "naked wasted" (as Tamra refers to it). Leave it to weasley slimey Ryan to take advantage of the situation. Gretchen was hilarious though and even made suave Simon spit his drink back in his cup laughing.

Next week's teaser: They left the Gretchen/Ryan thing "to be continued." I felt very sad and quiet when it went off...I hope she behaves herself. I get "into" these things too much...but it is so much fun!

The Only Time Housework Comes Before Scrapbooking...

Is In The Dictionary!

I participated in an online crop this past weekend. It was lots of fun chatting with the ladies (and gentleman). I didn't scrap much during the crop...I don't see how you could with all the typing! There were lots of challenges with prizes offered. The above card was for a "Faux Postage" challenge. It is one of my valentines I am making for a Valentine exchange!

This layout was for a "Memory from 2008" challenge. This is Manga Dork's volleyball team photo.

This is another valentine for the exchange and it was for the "Alternate shape card challenge." You could make anything but a square or rectangle. This was fun to design.

Another valentine...can you tell I wanted to get those done for the exchange! This was for a "First Time Technique" challenge. It was my first time using rub-ons.

This valentine (yes, another one) is for the "Stickles" challenge. If you don't know what Stickles are then you are missing out!

This last layout is for the "Silly Photo" layout challenge. We were in a dressing room at a Foto 1. We were getting the 2 babies' photo made. The black hat woman is MIL and SIL has the purple hat on. It was fun!
Wish me luck...I hope I win a prize!

Playing Catch...up!

011/365
Cutie Patootie doesn't want to fill my shoes...just my socks! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, those ARE authentic 80s socks straight from my middle school years. I have issues...
012/365
I am doing well on my diet. This is an example of one of my dinners (grapes, salad, mashed potatoes, rotisserie chicken). Yummy!
The reason you are getting 2 photos late is because Manga Dork uploaded a couple songs from limewire that messed with my computer! I will be back later today to post some scrappy stuff! I have been busy in my schoolhouse!
Happy Tuesday!

Fruity Jackpot

010/365
Ok so I did eat some blueberries that put the awesome strawberries to shame, BUT as I was uploading this photo I realized that I have been so bored that fruit is exciting to me. Gee that is sad...I need some excitement! Good excitement...not bad excitement. I'd rather have boring than chaos. Please don't stop following me because I am boring...LOL!

It's Winter! Brrr...

009/365
My Project 365 was an idea given in Creating Keepsakes magazine (January 09 issue). There is even a list of 365 ideas of what photos to take. I am using one of their suggestions today...the view out your front door in the winter. Brrr...
What's your weather like right now?

Cutie Patootie Sucks!

What is wrong with this picture? Ummm...maybe the almost 3 year old with a pacifier in her mouth. I was scrappin' at the schoolhouse and noticed things were a little TOO quiet. I found Cutie laying on the toddler bed with her hands behind her head sucking 90 mph on this thing. It was supposed to be used with a baby doll. I am surprised she knew what to do with it! She is my "blanket sucker" and rarely used a pacifier! TGIF!
