Easter Dinner By FedEx

On Wednesday we received this large styrofoam package from the FedEx man. What in the world could be in there? Dr. Hubby does occasionally get weird stuff in the mail....hmmm...

I opened it up and read the book...a ham?

Yep it was a half a ham...PLUS a carrot cake...potatoes au gratin...green bean casserole. Cool! And then it hit me! My secret is out!...someone found out I can't cook! LOL! Actually...it was a gift from one of the doctors at the hospital. How nice. Now I need to make a thank you card.
**One of the places I go to for answers to questions or just to vent is AMR...the ladies are so nice and make you feel welcome from the very beginning....BTW.....can you tell I am trying to win something by doing a week of AMR ads? I don't normally do this kind of thing but I REALLY love AMR and Stacey, the owner, has a big heart and knows how to make scrappin' fun!
Have you ever received a "cold" package?

Nephew Turns 9!

Last weekend we celebrated our nephew's 9th birthday at a party in the park. The weather was perfect!

He loved the gift from us! Thank goodness...Dr. Hubby usually does the boy gifts but I had to pick this one up.

After hotdogs and cake we got a jumpstart on summer activities...we shoved each kid in a feed sack and made them race...(MIL is on the end)

We tied their legs together and made them race...MIL was Manga Dork's partner...you should have seen the two little ones tied together...hahahahahaha! I brought the string home with me! Just joking. Kinda.

There was even a water balloon toss...
This post is dedicated to the memory of all 3 of my children's clothes...what was I thinking putting their good clothes on for a party in a park! Duh!
You know where you can get some great inspiration for scrappin' events such as this....AMR!
TGIF...and it's a good one...my calendar says so!

Scrappiness

This was for the Thursday scraplift at AMR this week. Barf-O-Rama is how we refer to a week in 2007 where everyone except Foster Son and Dr. Hubby ended up getting a stomach virus. We even had 2 cousins visiting for the week...I told their mom just to leave them at our house cause they would never make the 4 hour drive home puking and pooping. It was a mess!!!

You can join us at AMR by clicking the link...put scrapbooking somewhere in your registration...tell Stacey that Scrappy sent ya!

It's almost the weekend!

Warning: Manga Dork is a Jinx!

**WARNING: This week's House MD and AI spoilers**

On Monday Manga Dork was talking about the tv show "House." She said her favorite character is Kuttner....then we were watching it that night...and he kills himself!

She was squirming in her seat last night during AI's elimination. I dread the day he gets eliminated...she will be so disappointed.

She's not even allowed to say Danny's name...I'm not taking any chances.

Dangerous Mood Ahead

Last night I was headed to the computer...I was gonna type out my feelings...I was gonna post them for all to see...tears falling down my cheeks...I needed to get it all out...out of my head...then Dr. Hubby and Manga Dork came home...you all owe them...

One word....PMS!

Unfortunately this caused me to miss Scrap Chat Hour at AMR.

Bummer. I love chatting with the ladies every Tuesday...you scrappers out there would like it too! ScRaPbOoKfReNzY is the hostess every Tuesday at 8:30 pm CST. All board members are welcome.

Love Story

Suzie asked about how Dr. Hubby and I met...here's our love story...

My grandparents attended church with Dr. Hubby's family. One day Dr. Hubby and his dad came to my dad's junkyard to find a part for their car. They stopped by my grandparent's home for a visit. Dr. Hubby saw my senior picture sitting on a table and asked about me. He wanted to meet me and my grandparents said they would bring me to church with them.

I was not real excited to go because I always thought that people who attended his school were big hicks...most of them were. My grandparents were very excited about me meeting him and I hated to disappoint them...so I went. It was Dec. 23, 1992.

In church I caught a glimpse of him sitting in the back with other teens. He had on a black motorcycle-type leather jacket. Cute. Blond hair...little mustache...

He came up to talk to us...I pretended to be really interested in a book Lil Sis had brought with her while he chatted with my mama. My heart was beating SO fast...he finally leaned over and spoke to me. I think I gave him a couple one word answers and then he went to the pew in front of us to sit with his parents. This is when I got to check out his back side...he had none...heehee!

At the end of church he asked me for my # and said he would call me. He called on Dec. 26th. We went on our first date on Dec. 29th. We ate at Fiesta Bravo...watched "The BodyGuard"...bought matching friendship bead necklaces...then we bought cassette singles (remember those?)...I bought "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston...he bought "Highway to Hell" by ACDC...hmmmm!

On Jan 1st he kissed me for the first time...On Jan. 3rd he asked me to go "steady" and gave me his class ring.

We had these photos made in February 1993. My hair is red because I tried some "sun-in."

On March 14th Dr. Hubby went on a field trip with my school to the Cinncinnatti zoo. We were sitting on a bench in front of the pond and he asked me to marry him. I said yes. I loved planning my wedding. He did break up with me once in the parking lot at the mall...then by the time I got home he called and apologized. We attended our senior proms together.

In November he gave me my engagement ring (after asking my dad and me again). These were our engagement photos. We got married July 8, 1994. Our wedding colors were red and purple and we honeymooned in Tennessee.

My parents gave us a house for our wedding present. Our first "big" purchase as a married couple was a mini schnauzer named Daustin Anastas Rochester (Rocky). This was our photo of our first Christmas together.
We will have been married for 15 years on July 8th, 2009. It's still a wild ride...

Doing The Happy Winner Dance!

I won today's Font/Title Challenge on AMR! The journaling on this page reads:
I love everything about blogging. Some of my best friends are ladies I have never met face to face. It helps this housewife feel connected to the world...even if I'm still in my pajamas in the afternoon.

This is the photo that will be on it...

You could be a winner too...the challenges are open to all message board members! Go check it out!
Happy Tuesday!

My Scrappy Numbers

So far in 2009 I have created 1 altered notebook, 61 Artist trading cards, 4 two page layouts, 34 one page layouts, and 41 cards! Wow! I have been busy. Alot of my creativity comes from the challenges and inspiration I find on the All Moments Remembered Message Board...you can click the above pic to go for a visit...if you decided to join in the fun use "scrapbooking" as your keyword and be sure to tell them Scrappy Girl sent ya! Also let me know you join too...so I can say HI!

This is an ATC I made for Lil Sis...she made a gorgeous charcoal drawing ATC of Edward's eyes.

I joined in an Easter card swap and these are a few of mine I am sending...

Hippity Hoppity...Easter's on it's way...

I am working on Wild Child's treat for her preschool friends at their Easter party...it's going to be cute!

"Oh No...Not You Too."

Poor Dr. Hubby was probably thinking those words in the car yesterday.

Actual Conversation

Manga Dork: I don't know what I am going to write my story about.

Wild Child: How about the beach.

Manga Dork: Hey, that's a good idea.

Scrappy: What type of story do you have to write?

Manga Dork: It can be fiction or a true story.

Scrappy: How about vampires at the beach...haha!

Wild Child: Vampires are scary.

Scrappy: Edward is a vampire.

Wild Child: Edward's not scary.

Scrappy: He's good looking and cute.

Wild Child: Yeah....and he's HOT too.

We all cracked up!

Manga Dork: She is DEFINITELY my sister!

Poor Dr. Hubby...he doesn't stand a chance of ridding his home of the Twilight bug!
