NC Day #3 I Got A Little Sugar...

On the 3rd day of our trip we were still in Myrtle Beach, SC.

We spent the day shopping at the Tanger Outlets...I got a fantastic faux-fur lined jacket at Tommy Hillfiger. Manga Dork scored lots of Back To School Goodies.

Before going to our room for the night we went to a couple stores at Broadway at the Beach...

this is my favorite...it is a sugar lover's dream. They even have a huge castle built out of Jelly Belly beans...it costs $25,000.

Manga Dork and Lil Sis wanted to have a BuildaBear experience. This is Manga Dork's new friend, Yuki.

The new owl stole Lil Sis's heart...she named him Fezziwig.

This is the view from our hotel room's window. We stayed at the Hampton Inn...very nice.

Next post is for our last day in Myrtle Beach and you will get to see the $450 (for 2 people)activity we did...I must say it is probably one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had!

I Nearly Fell Off the Scale!

I went to my weigh in tonite. I missed last week because of my trip and I was really worried when I stepped on that scale. They put the scale on the weight you were at on your last weigh in...I hold my breath praying that it doesn't pop up when I step on. It didn't...she pushed it down a pound...it still didn't move...she went another pound...nothing. At this point my jaw dropped...and she went down another pound...it moved to the middle...I LOST 3 POUNDS! Hallelujah! This put me at 24.5 pounds lost! Our goal for the summer was 24 pounds...and we still have one more weigh in to go! Yahoo! Manga Dork maintained her weight and her friend Tay lost 3 pounds. Tay had not been to weigh in since before their camping trip....I think it had been 5 weeks. I am glad she lost and still has her motivation!

NC Girls Trip Days 1 and 2

I am home from our trip. Here's some of the fun we had...

On the way to NC we passed by Pilot Mountain. This area is full of Mayberry stuff...even an Aunt Bea's Restaurant. This cop car was too cute.

This is my dream home. It is on the way to NC too. This picture does not do it justice. Behind the house is a huge pond with a white dock and gazebo on the water. Gorgeous!

The first night we ate at Golden Corral. BIL's dad and sis were in town too. I was surprised that his dad watched Real Housewives...I loved talking with him! We stayed at the Marriott that night since they already had a full house.

On Day #2 we picked up Lil Sis and drove to Myrtle Beach, SC. First stop...a candy store! Oh the barrels of yumminess!

We had lots of fun in the shops at Barefoot Landing...check out the beak on Lil Sis!

Can't you just see mom driving a blue 57 Chevy! LOL! I took a new profile pic in this store...I'll get it up later!

The Christmas Mouse is a very festive store full of great trees! I loved this blue and white...lots of little dishes...thought of you Dana!

Mom was impressed by the imitation Sham Wow guy...we each came home with one. I told mom that Kristina would be so proud...she said, "Who?" I just reply "Internet." LOL!

We dared to enter the Maze of Mirrors...Mom totally cheated by using her imitation Sham Wows to find the mirrors! Next we were off to...

ride a mechanical bull?!

So funny to watch Manga Dork and Lil Sis fall off!

We ended the day at Broadway at the Beach riding the rides and then Lil Sis and Manga Dork took a dip in the pool...

Feels good to be back home and online...I took a small "blogcation." Can't wait to check in with everyone!

We are leaving New Bern tomorrow morning and going to Myrtle Beach, SC until Saturday evening. I am sure I am already missing your posts...don't do anything exciting til I get to a computer! LOL!

Speaking of New Bern...Nicholas Sparks will be releasing a new book in September and his book Dear John has been made into a movie and will be released February 2010...BooksAMillion had the hardcover on sale for $6.97!

Pimp My Escalade

I {heart} my Escalade. I just had it detailed to remove all the skittles, french fries, and lucky pennies. Without all that it just does not feel personal...it doesn't feel like I am expressing myself...I looked to photobucket for some ideas...

I guess this is for the people who drive close to the water...

I know my skirt or hair would get caught in those doors! And with my tendency for foot injuries...this would just be askin' for it...

Back By Popular Demand

Inlaw Antics!

Evidently my inlaws heard your rave reviews of my rants about their behavior...

they were being SO good...

of course they were gone for 2 weeks...LOL!

Ok...are you ready for this?

Last night my FIL came up and I excitedly told him that we were adding a tiny chihuahua to our home after my vacation (more on that later)...

He said, "Now I just gave my dog away (the one that attacked and killed the girls' cat last month WHILE they were playing with it). No more dogs on the farm." He said this like a parent telling a child "No candy until after dinner."

Now Mr. FIL...don't make me pull rank on you...shall we look and see who's name is on the check that pays the farm mortgage each month? Hmmm?

Argh.

Things I Have Learned

This past week I have been cleaning...cleaning...cleaning! Here are a few things I have learned...

1. Manga Dork has my organizational skillz and can work right beside me (when she wants to).

2. Magic Eraser should be added to the list of miracles.

3. It takes an entire day to "deep clean" a whole room...no matter how many times you say you are going to do more than one.

4. There is a definite difference between brand name and generic window cleaner...don't waste your money...buy the brand name...one word...STREAKS!

5. I love the feeling of sitting back at the end of the day and looking at what I accomplished.


6. Everyone you know and a few people you don't will decide to pop by your house as soon as you have torn apart a room.

7. There is a bottom to the laundry hamper.

8. No one will willingly offer to help...unless they are under the age of 5...not sure what age they decide cleaning/helping is no fun.

9. I miss my housekeeper...I did not use her during the summer...this was a mistake...she's coming back after my vacation.

10. No one notices when you have cleaned something...they only complain when you don't...some will even complain about the rooms you have not gotten to while you are "back to school cleaning"...this makes you feel very small and unappreciated...

BONUS...the only way my home will stay clean and perfect is if my family is not there...I think I'll keep the family!

Today we are packing...I leave for my mom's house tomorrow...and we drive to NC on Wednesday...I NEED THIS VACATION!
