Things I Have Learned

This past week I have been cleaning...cleaning...cleaning! Here are a few things I have learned...

1. Manga Dork has my organizational skillz and can work right beside me (when she wants to).

2. Magic Eraser should be added to the list of miracles.

3. It takes an entire day to "deep clean" a whole room...no matter how many times you say you are going to do more than one.

4. There is a definite difference between brand name and generic window cleaner...don't waste your money...buy the brand name...one word...STREAKS!

5. I love the feeling of sitting back at the end of the day and looking at what I accomplished.

6. Everyone you know and a few people you don't will decide to pop by your house as soon as you have torn apart a room.

7. There is a bottom to the laundry hamper.

8. No one will willingly offer to help...unless they are under the age of 5...not sure what age they decide cleaning/helping is no fun.

9. I miss my housekeeper...I did not use her during the summer...this was a mistake...she's coming back after my vacation.

10. No one notices when you have cleaned something...they only complain when you don't...some will even complain about the rooms you have not gotten to while you are "back to school cleaning"...this makes you feel very small and unappreciated...

BONUS...the only way my home will stay clean and perfect is if my family is not there...I think I'll keep the family!

Today we are packing...I leave for my mom's house tomorrow...and we drive to NC on Wednesday...I NEED THIS VACATION!

Oh yes, go out and get you some Magic Eraser, it will be quite the miracle worker, trust me! And after watching "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" I use nothing but original Windex... it cures all, and is the best for leaving no streaks. Hope you have a blast on your vacation! :-)

Isn't it nice to get a room cleaned from top to bottom and the laundry bin totally empty. It's a great feeling!! I also like the Magic Eraser - it is magic! I hate that it gets smaller and smaller as you use it - but it works. Woot!

I always love the cartoons you find. If we really could live without cleaning the house - I'd be out of a job... *giggle.

Have a super fun time at your Mom's. I still can't wait to hear what fun thing you did for $450. I hope you keep us up to date on all the fun you are having while your gone. Have fun and be safe!

I am jealous that you are the first to discover the bottom of the hamper. I just can't believe you discovered that. Is there a prize or something :)

My house keeper is here today! I didn't use her for a while, but I won't make that mistake again! There was something in the bottom of my laundry hamper. It was black and a little furry looking. Gross!
Have fun on your vacation!

What is this mythical bottom of a hamper you speak of? I thought that only existed in the realm of unicorns.

AMEN on the Majic Eraser. Hey, and I found the bottom of our clothes basket yesterday. It will be lost again by the time we all get home. RATS!!

Oh, and I can't do windows. I try, for some reason I streak them up. I'm sure I'm hilarious to watch though. I really do try.

Have fun on your trip.

Have fun getting out of the house, enjoy your time with your mom and elsewhere! :) I hate cleaning too, it takes up WAY too much time. Thanks for entering into my giveaway, good luck! ;)

I agree with everything you have said. Neither of my kids want to help clean. I think they stop wanting to help when they are six.

My house needs a total deep cleaning so bad! I said to Splenda yesterday afternoon "Let's just burn it down and start over."

His response?
"Don't tempt me"

Maybe next week.......

I HATE HATE HATE housework. And I haven't done it much at all this summer. I figure, what's the point, since my kids just follow me around the house making more messes.

Like 5 seconds ago, when they decided to have a lemonade stand...again, and now my kitchen is all sticky from them making lemonade.

My housekeeperly duties will resume once school starts again.
