Time Out for Bad Mommy

Wild Child recently named her favorite color (yellow). And I loved when she started spontaneously telling me that she loves me. But last night she did something for the very first time that made me feel like buying myself this t-shirt:

I had to give her a smack on her leg to get her to hold still. She was pitching a fit and a half! She started crying and ran to Dr. Hubby. She climbed into his lap and for the first time said, "Mommy is bad." That broke my soft heart and I had to go cry into my pillow. Here is where "Bad Mommy" felt like going:

After everyone got put to bed I cheered myself up with my favorite treat (kettle korn and sour patch kids) while we watched "In the Land of Women." I love Meg Ryan in that movie.

This morning while I was stopping the "partners in crime" at work in the bathroom, I decided to move this little Dora stool by using my toes. It got caught on the carpet, I lost my balance, the shower curtain caught me, and..........

I was put in TIME OUT!

I cut between my big toe and little toe. The little piece of plastic that goes from leg to leg caught it. Ouch! I drove to Dr. Hubby's office and he sealed it with DermaBond (I think that is what it was called). I hope it will hold or he said I will need 2-3 stitches. He is my hero!

Happy Monday!

Inspired?

Things that inspire me...

After an awesome rain shower yesterday evening we were blessed with a gorgeous double rainbow. At the back of the farm we could see the full arch.
At the front of the farm was this gorgeous sky. I wish I had a better camera because this was one of the prettiest skies I have seen in a long time.
Things that suck the inspiration right out of me...

This is my scrapbooking/cardmaking/rubber stamping supplies. They are all boxed up and ready to go to the schoolhouse when it is done. For any newbie blog readers, I am remodeling an old one room schoolhouse on our farm. It is going to hold my crop room and a play room. Because without a playroom there would be no scrapbooking! LOL! I can't wait to share pics with you when it is done. We are in the final stages and I hope to be done by the end of July!

Happy Sunday! Hope the day is restful and fun!

Beachy Dreams

I am starting to get excited about our upcoming trip to NYC. It made me think about our trip to NC this past May. I wanted to share some pics of that trip with all of you .

This is my Mom and sister. See I told you (in my 50 things) that we look like we are from different planets. LOL! Oh to be blessed with that height!
We visited a small zoo in Wilmington, NC. The babies were amazed to see "Diego's animals."
We love to play Mini Golf. We visited the "Golfin' Dolphin" near Emerald Isle. This is me in front of the VERY BLUE water. Honestly, I love blueberry slushes and every time I looked at it I wanted one! Cutie Patootie threw her ball AND putter in this water. Oops!
Manga Dork is a good mini golfer. She tore up the track over at the go-karts also. Foster Son took his first ride on them. He wrecked with my Sis. Oops again!
Last year when we visited the beach the 2 babies were terrified and cried for the whole 45 minutes we were there. This year they loved it! They cried because we had to leave. The two big kids played in the ocean until they shriveled.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Relax!

Dear Bloggy Readers,

I write you with an annoying dilemma. It is summer time and the days are bright and sunny. The temperature here has been moderate and the breezes are delightful. I have 4 children. These children spent the entire winter indoors. We actually did not get to have one romp in the snow due to runny noses and the flu. When spring came I just knew the kids would be like birds let out of a cage. Instead this is what I deal with daily:

Foster son sits and "twittles" his thumbs until I bring them in for a meal. Then he jumps up and comes running. He says there is nothing to do outside.
Manga Dork was found twirling this broom in a completely bored state. She acts like I am punishing her. It stresses me out. I feel like I am being mean wanting them to play outside.
Wild Child is the one who does the most playing outside. She would be no problem if she didn't end up with an "injury" every 5 minutes. Here she is holding ice (and eating it too) in a baggy on a foot injury.
Cutie Patootie refuses to leave her clothes on while outside. She cries and cries and cries.

The babies do occasionally find entertainment while "on the outside." Last night they took all the pea sized gravels from the flower bed and put them all over the porch. Fun!

Where have I gone wrong? Is a trampoline, swing set, playhouse, sandbox, jungle gym, slide, basketball hoop, wagon, and every ball imagineable not enough? Should we add a roller coaster or a concession stand? What about a petting zoo? I could hire a magician or clown!?

Am I alone in this problem? Are there others out there with children who want to do nothing but lay on their butts in front of a TV? Please help...

Sincerely,
UnHappy Scrappy

The adventures of our purple crayola marker...

All was quiet on Four Seasons Farm. The temperature was a wonderful 75 degrees. A light breeze was blowing. Scrappy Girl was lounging in her wicker swing with a good book while her 2 smallest children giggled and played in the backyard.

All of a sudden Scrappy Girl noticed things have been too quiet. She goes over to Wild Child. Her face is covered in purple marker. "Why did you do this?!" exclaims Scrappy. "I don't know." says Wild Child innocently.

Scrappy goes over to Cutie Patootie who is using the marker to give her belly button more flair. "Why are you doing this?!" Scrappy asks. "Shissy" says Cutie and she points at Wild Child.
After coloring all over themselves the only thing left to do...pose for a photoshoot (of course).
These two are definitely partners in crime. Other crimes they have been convicted of: taking all the baby wipes out of the container and throwing them all over the living room, coating the glass door and themselves in Desitin, painting a picture frame and the side of the couch with Manga Dork's bottle of foundation makeup, and throwing fine glitter all over Foster Son's bed while drawing pictures on his wall with Scrappy's new glitter markers.
These two should be considered armed and messy. If seen please remove everything from their hands, kiss their cute little faces, and tell them to go play.

Around the farm...

I am loving having a USB cord for my digital camera. I couldn't resist going out on the farm this evening and letting some of my animal friends say hello!

This is Tony. He is a Belgian cross. He is our buggy horse. He was a Mother's Day gift along with the Amish buggy. He prefers the greener grass on the other side of the fence. This keeps our fence continuously in need of repair.
This is Lightning and Whitey the Longhorn. Dr. Hubby fell in love with Lightning and had to buy her. All the kids call her the "Dalmation Horse."
Aren't these just the cutest little guys. We had several babies on the farm this year.
I am a little nervous (ok alot nervous) around the longhorn. This is Starburst. See the blur of her tail. Well....as soon as I took this pic she charged toward the fence kicking and snorting. Scrappy Girl nearly wetted herself. I turned and ran away screaming. My legs turned to jello and my heart dropped to my toes. She evidently doesn't like the flash of a camera. Hmmm...maybe she should hang with Britney. I bet that would solve the papparazzi problem!
Have a great night!

Tagged! I feel so special...

I was tagged (my very first one) by Mechelle over at Smelling the Flowers. I am supposed to show everyone my computer space. Well, here it is. The bookcase holds Dr. Hubby's antique books. I love Longaberger baskets so there are a few in there too. The desk went to my childhood bedroom suit. The pictures are caricatures of Dr. Hubby and I when we were dating and Manga Dork at 8 years old. The pics were done 10 years apart (1993 and 2003). Stacked between are my books and scrapbook albums waiting to be taken to the schoolhouse when it is done. We are looking for a huge desk with bookshelves for this area. I think Dr. Hubby is going to have an Amish man build one I saw in the Pottery Barn catalog. There are also a couple Walmart returns in a bag on top of the books. LOL! I wanted to be "real" and show you what it looked like without cleaning. Thanks Mechelle for tagging me!

"Cook"in'...And not cookin'

I woke up this morning and hoped my day was nothing like yesterday. Foster son got out of bed - he had barely peed. I cleaned my house - the kids helped without complaining. They were given free time - no argueing. I changed Cutie Patootie's diaper - no more diarhea. Wow! I am on a roll...so I turn on "The View" (cause I like to listen to them do their "Hot Topics)," and guess who one of the guests was?! DAVID COOK!!! (and david archuletta too).

The winds have changed! He was so fabulous! I love how he speaks so eloquently and uses vocabulary that confuses most of the other celebrities. I can't wait to get his CD.
I am still a little bored. I think I will take the kids to the library. Which means I have to get myself out of pj's. I requested books by Sandra Lee. You know, the Semi-Homemade lady. I am a terrible cook. I have been feeling self conscious about it lately too. My cooking is a family joke. Nothing like having one of your weaknesses brought to your attention at EVERY family get together. Hey, it is better than discussing my weight!
Speaking of my weight and lack of cooking skills...maybe we will go gourmet for dinner...
Happy Tuesday!

Moody Monday

Ok, this is torture...I am starting to wonder if my PMS is going to linger FOREVER...Aunt Flo...where are you? I have been having mood swings one after another. I am sure my family thinks I am just a ball of fun. Yikes!
This made me giggle today. One of the few things that broke through the hard shell of my PMS armor.

I am having Mommy Overload and I need a small break. I am trying to help Manga Dork lose a few pounds by watching her food intake . Foster son's therapist wants him to stop bed wetting. I have to make peeing the bed VERY inconvenient for him so it is easier NOT to pee the bed. Not fun. Wild Child is not cooperating with the potty training. Cutie Patootie has a bad case of diaherhea. Yuck!

Hope everyone is having alot more fun! Happy Monday!

Potty training...POOP....and a pickle?

Ok, today is the day...we woke up ready...6 panties...2 toddlers...one potty. Wild Child used the potty one time. Cutie Patootie caught me in the laundry room and flooded the bathroom sink and floor. After counting to 10 in my bedroom, I go to clean up water. What do I find? Foster son standing in the middle of all the water peeing in the toilet! We have 2 bathrooms! Why would you use the flooded one? He has no idea why! From 10 AM to noon we had already went through 5 panties. I put a diaper on Cutie Patootie. I am not sure she is ready for this. Wild Child has on the last pair of dry panties. What is that smell?
POOP! Oh no! Wild Child opens the door and takes off running and hides under a chair outside. I peel her out from underneath it and carry her (carefully) into the house. We are greeted by a screaming Cutie Patootie! She has her tongue stuck out and is not wanting to swallow. Is she choking? What is on her tongue? I freak out and smell her breath. It smells like PICKLE! Is she choking on a pickle? I get her to stop crying and discover she has bit her tongue. Ouch! Meanwhile, I look over at Wild Child and she has POOP on her hands and t-shirt. How did that happen?! AHH! I clean her up and put a diaper back on her because I am out of panties. Boy, that was successful. I feel like crying in my Diet Coke...I feel like eating chinese...I feel like screaming...I put on a video for the girls and I take a moment to relax and gather my thoughts. In stressful times I try to remember to put things into perspective. I try to remember there is always someone out there dealing with more than me...

Happy Thursday!

What We Did Yesterday Part 2 (Part 1 is below)

Well, after some deep breathing and relaxation exercises we went to Borders. I was SO excited to see a new book called "Twenty Wishes" by Debbie Macomber. I can't wait to read it. This helped my blues...(a little)
The girls picked the Adam Sandler movie "Don't Mess with the Zohan." Warning: This movie is a little rougher than I normally like, but it is HILARIOUS!
Coming Soon: This movie about Chihuahuas who are fed up with being carried around in purses and treated like accessories looks SO funny. You expect them to attack Paris Hilton any minute!
On the way home the most amazing thing happened. I was driving by DQ and noticed a sign that said "Cotton candy blizzard is back." Wooooooooooooo! Hoooooooooo! (LOL! I actually did yell and scare the kids.) This is such sweet bliss. I love this treat more than any other. I haven't had one since last September. I made an illegal U turn and got hooked up. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Happy Tuesday!

Here's What We Did Yesterday (Monday)

After some intense in-laws drama; Manga Dork, 15 year old cousin, and I hopped in the Escalade and drove into town. It was just like old times when Manga Dork was an only child (For 9 1/2 years) and the cousin would come to visit. With 3 more kids and lil cousin it is harder now. We were excited!
Our first stop was for chinese food! Hallelujah! Chinese food is our tub of ice cream. We have it whenever most people would be crying in their Rocky Road or Chunky Monkey. You know like losing a pet, breaking up with a boyfriend, hangnail.....etc.
Then it was off to 3 pet stores to ooh and aah over all the sweet puppies. I am just crazy over the Brussel Griffons. They have that Cabbage Patch Kid thing going on...so ugly they are cute! I want one...
Then we discovered they had put in a Sonic! YAY! Watermelon slushies! Plus between 2 and 4 it is happy hour and drinks are half price! Cool! Things were just going SO well. Until....
I pulled up to the Scrapbook store and this was what one of the signs on the door said...AHHHH! The other sign (Which poored salt into my already open wounds) said "We now have over 1100 12x12 papers." AHHHHH! I was truly downhearted...

To Be Continued...
