My Expo Experience

This card was another make and take from expo (Scrapbook Groupies). We had to bring this one home to do. As for my day yesterday....it was fabulous. We met at 8Am and took a 15 passenger van to Columbus Ohio for the Memories Expo. This was my second year. I love all the booths, but I don't love trying to get into the booths. Talk about feeling like cattle! There is so much to look at and there seems to be alot of scrapbook getaway places popping up. I love getaways. It is fun to make friends with ladies as obsessed with scrappin' as I am. LOL!

After expo we drove over to Archiver's. "Kid in a candy store" is right! I love it! I bought lots of paper (as usual). Then we went to eat at Logan's Roadhouse. Yummy! I was naughty and had a "not so healthy" meal.

I took my 12 yo daughter with me and we were both exhausted at the end of the day. I actually have a couple small bruises on the top of my feet from some not so nice shoes. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Expo

This was the make and take from the Archiver's booth at expo. Not my greatest stamping work, but with about 30 women pushing on your backside and breathing down your neck it is not bad. LOL! I will post about my trip more later. I just have to give my kids their "attitude adjustment" after spending a day with Dad and Grandma!

Happy Birthday to my nephew!

Just wanted to say Happy 8th Birthday to my nephew! Your Aunt loves you. I thought I would share this card I made in honor of his day. I got the idea from splitcoaststampers.com. That site is great if you love Stampin' Up.

I took the babies to cheernastics today. They are so cute. They love it and it gets us out of the house. Hallelujah!

I hated to see Chikezie go from American Idol last night. So sad...

My current dream project

This is what I am currently working on. It is a one room schoolhouse on our farm. This will eventaully be my scrap room/ play room for the kids. It was all going to be scrap area, but then reality said that if there is no playroom then there will be no scrappin' getting done. It is in poor condition. I had to bleach all the inside walls and prime them with Kilz primer. It had been turned into an apartment when we bought the farm so there is a bedroom, bathroom, and living room/kitchen. I will share more pics later of the inside. Hopefully by summer the outside will be painted white with a new front steps. I would love to add a window planter under that window and a flower bed all along the front. Just wanted to share.

As for American Idol last night! WOW! So much better than the Lennon/McCartney weeks. They were BORING! I thought the 3 weakest performances were Ramiele Malubay, Chikezie, and Jason Castro. Micheal Johns and David Cook were UNBELIEVABLE. Brooke was not impressive, but I really hope she stays. I have given up on Kristy Lee Cook leaving so I just won't mention her. I am looking forward to seeing Kimberly Locke perform. Season 2 is still my favorite season.

Happy Easter to my "Peeps"

Happy Easter! We have had such a fun holiday weekend so far! On Friday morning all the men on the farm went on a fishing trip. This left me, MIL, SIL, 12 yo daughter, 2 yo daughter, 3 yo daughter, and my 9 yo niece. We went shopping and had the 3 yo's bday pics taken. She did so good. We ate at Cheddars. They actually have fat free honey mustard!!! Heaven! We shopped JCPenney, TJMaxx, Micheals, Elder Beerman, and (of course) Walmart. We got home at 10:30 pm and "tried" to watch Enchanted. It is really good so far.
On Saturday my SIL and I took the 2 older girls to see College Road Trip. Such a cute movie! Donnie Osmond is hilarious! We then went and bought all the fixins' for our Easter dinner and the kid's Easter baskets. Unfortunately thanks to my procrastination we are having a "Peepless" Easter. Walmart was completely sold out. We went home and decorated egg shaped cookies and tie-dyed Easter eggs.
Today we are having dinner here at the house. The men are all home except for mine. He and our foster son had "empty gas tank" issues on the way home while pulling his uncle's camper. They had to get a hotel room at 4AM! From what my FIL and BIL say the whole weekend was an "adventure." I think us girls had the better weekend.
Have a blessed Easter!

Tuesday the 18th

Life got really chaotic, real fast. Hubby's grandmother passed away last Friday so we attended the funeral yesterday. She was such a sweet lady. She was always kind to everyone and an exceptional christian role model. We are going to really miss her. We drove in and back all in one day (8 hours in the car total). We were all tired this morning.

I maintained my 30 pounds lost this week. I hope to go down 2-3 pounds this week. I have been stuck at 195.5 for almost 2 weeks so it is definitely time to move on.

Hubby got his monkey and balloons I sent him. It was the 15th anniversary of the day he proposed at the zoo. I sent him a monkey with 2 red and 2 purple balloons (our wedding colors).

Sis, if you are reading this, make sure you call and keep us updated on the job search. I am so looking forward to our trip to NYC!

American Idol is on tonight. I am not excited about another week of the Lennon/McCartney songbook.

Thursday

PMS is about to get the best of me. Oh my goodness. I believe I have had a thousand mood swings today. The babies went to cheernastics this morning. They love it. I think I am really stressed out over making the decision of whether to adopt our foster son or not. I am going to watch the Nanny Diaries with our 12 year old. Hubby is sick. His grandmother is going to pass away in a few days. He will be left with only one grandfather now. I hope he feels better so we can travel to see her one more time. I think that will be good for him.

I can't believe David Hernandez was voted off American Idol. Oh well!

Snowy Saturday

Well, I missed the card club for NOTHING! It only rained yesterday evening and I could have made it just fine. Hubby went to the grocery store for me. He did ok. I didn't say anything cause I was just glad to have something to eat. The movie he brought home was American Gangster. He didn't get home til 10:30 pm so I just went to bed.

It is snowing today. Over night it covered everything with ice and then around 10 Am it started snowing. We have about 2-3 inches now and they are calling for 5-6. Brrr....I don't mind as long as the electricity stays on! It is coming down in big gorgeous flakes. I think I will take a shower, put on some pjs, and scrapbook.

I have been working with our foster son today on learning to do other things than playing DS. He gets 30 minutes of Nintendo DS time daily. It is the first thing he wants to do then he just sits on his butt watching TV or staring into space the rest of the day. It drives me nuts. So after SEVERAL warnings and lectures on doing other things I have decided to take over his day. He is only doing what I tell him to do. So far he has played DS for 30 minutes, talked to a friend on the phone, read a book, wrote his Amaw a letter, cleaned his room, straightened the living room, mopped the kitchen floor, played with his train table, played with his sisters, and drew a picture of a fictional place. I am running out of ideas. Any ideas?

OH, I almost forgot to add. We weighed in this morning and I have officially lost 30 POUNDS!

Boooooooooooooring..................

Boy has today been boring. I have all my housework done. All the laundry done. I am bored.

I was supposed to go to a cardmaking club tonight but thanks to a tiny winter storm that is in effect until 7 pm tomorrow I am staying home. So far all we have is rain...boo hoo! It better do something or I am going to be mad. Not really mad just bummed.

Today our 3 year old took the palm of her hand and dipped it into her mustard. She then used it like a rubber stamp to put spots up her arm. Did I freak out? Nope I was just impressed with her creativity. When I asked her about it she just sniffed it and said "It smells so good." She would live on mustard if possible.

Hope your Friday is turning out better than mine! Hubby is bringing home a movie so there is hope....

Finally! We are getting better!

Thank goodness I woke up this morning feeling lots better. Both kids went to school and the babies are better too! No one has a fever. This is the first day since last Thursday!

Today was a very bland day. I got all my housework done. I like keeping it up but then I tend to get bored when it is all done.

I had a "binge" today that I think was probably PMS induced. At 2:00 I ate 2 Russell Stover truffles, a caramel Ghiradelli, 4 slices of light bread, 15 chocolate Quakes, and a cup of hot chocolate. Can you see the trend?

Our 3 year old was helping me use the pumice stone on my feet today. When I hit 30 pounds lost I am going to get a pedicure so I have been taking better care of my "flintstone feet." She was using the pumice stone on the top of my big toe when she pointed out that I had hair on it "just like Daddy's."

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog. I wanted to create a blog that I could come to and release my thoughts and feelings instead of going to the pantry or refrigerator. I have been dieting since January 1st and I have lost 27 pounds so far! I struggle with emotional eating so I am trying to replace that with something else (like this blog). I also hope to keep in touch with friends and relatives I don't get to see often. Hope you enjoy!
