Gettin' Raggedy

Last night was our trick or treat and costume parade in the little town where Dr. Hubby's office is located. I dressed up as Raggedy Ann minus her Andy again this year.

It was very chilly out! Wild Child's music teacher peeked out the door and said hi. Her hubby made Wild Child sing a song for her treat.

The are growing up so fast...Manga Dork declared herself "too old to dressup." Wah.

My MIL braved the wind with me. The littles started whining and sticking their hands in her pockets so we headed back to the office.

Each year I wonder when they will want to stop dressing alike....I love it, but I know it will probably be soon.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Creations

I enjoy picking out and embellishing little treats for the girls to give their friends on holidays. Here is how we spread the Halloween spirit this year...

Cutie Patootie took large autumn shaped suckers for her friends at preschool. I punched out a tag and added a little glitter. Then I tied on some Halloween ribbon. She was so excited to hand them out at the party! She took her teacher one of my handmade cards and a jumbo chocolate candy bar.

For Wild Child's class I used some wedding favor tins I got on clearance at Walmart a couple years ago. I am trying to use my "stash" before I buy anything else...my supply baskets are running over! I added a couple punched circles from Halloween paper I have had FOREVER! Then of course...I added a little glitter to each one...and filled them with pumpkins and candy corn. Wild Child signed a tag on the bottom of each one.
I actually made 11 cards, but realized I did not take a picture AFTER they were all sealed in their envelopes. In 2008 I participated in a swap of 3" deco squares. These were perfect for putting on the front of a card. I simply inked the edges and/or added some spooky ribbon. The above cards are for the bus driver and Wild Child's teacher.

Wild Child also took the bus driver and her teacher a Hershey's chocolate bar all dressed up! These are simple and fun to make. I think I may do this with a Christmas theme for all of our neighbors!

The last thing I completed was a layout for a "Fall Colors" theme challege at Scrap Sisters Studio. This little guy was our foster son a couple years ago. He stayed with us for almost 2 years and we struggled with the decision to adopt him. Several issues prevented the adoption from happening. It was so stressful and still haunts me. Some of you probably remember reading my posts about it. He is adopted to a very nice family who lives about 1-2 miles down the road from us.
Tonight is Trick or Treat and a parade for us! I am dressing up too! FUN! BOO!
PS...Tonight is Beverly Hills Housewives! You can catch all the episodes starting at 8:00pm est...with the new episode beginning at 10:00 pm est. Just spreading my addiction...lol.

The Spooky Celebration Begins

This past Saturday began our week of haunting good fun! We attended our community Halloween party. The 2 little ones walked in the parade. They lost "Best Couple" to a couple of little viking kids...

After the parade we went over to the game room. Their fave game was "fishing." Makes me think of that scene in the movie "Pollyanna" when she wins that doll.

I even won something! A door prize! This was truly a miracle because I NEVER win anything.

Yes, I made the "too cool to dressup" teen go. This was the best group shot out of FIVE! One of these days I will get a good one! After the community party the teen went with a group of friends to the HAUNTED PENETENTIARY. Did I go? Absolutely not...no thank you.
More Spppoooookkkkkyyyy fun coming...

I Could Totally Be Her BFF

It is only show #2 and I am already addicted to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I love seeing the cars, houses, private jets, clothes, BAGS, shoes, SHOPPING...I love it all. There are 6 women on this show. Here's a some quick info.:

Adrienne Maloof: Owns Sacremento Kinds bball team, a skateboard business, partners with Interscope Records, and Palms Resort and Casino in Vegas. Married to cute plastic surgeon.

Taylor: Very worried about getting older and her husband "replacing" her with a younger model. Had a procedure from Adrienne's hubby on the very first show. Has that "plastic surgery" face.

Kim Richards: Was the little blond girl on the original "Escape to Witch Mountain"...and doesn't allow you to forget that! Totally dependent upon her children. Kathy Hilton's sister {Paris's aunt}...divorcee.

Kyle Richards: Kim's younger sis. Looks like Demi Moore. Long gorgeous hair. Looks like Paris with dark hair. Very fun. Feels the need to "mother" Kim.

Camille Grammar: Ex-wife of Kelsey Grammar...her marriage falls apart during this season, 4 nannies for 2 kids, hired a surrogate to carry both of her kids {she says it is "much easier that way."} She is O.B.N.O.X.I.O.U.S.!

Lisa Vanderplump: {pictured above} Absolutely my fave! She is a very beautiful woman with a great sense of humor. She loves to make snarky comments...in her wonderful British accent. She has been married since she was 21 to her hubby. Always carries a Teddy Bear Pomeranian named Jiggy. And don't even get me started on her handbags. For an Easter party with the Richards sisters she brought a $1,000 3 foot tall chocolate Easter bunny!

I can't believe I am saying this, but....Jersey who? I have a new favorite city!

Are you watching? You should be! It is a fun hour of "escapism." The perfect guilty pleasure.

I Hope I Did Not Offend You

Ok girlies I want to make sure that my last post was not taken as something it was not meant to be. I did not mean I was bored of the blogs and blog friends I currently have...I {heart} you guys. You have no idea what you mean to me. I have just had some extra time and I would like to find some fresh new blogs to read IN ADDITION to the ones I am already reading. It feels like making a new friend. I have been lonely lately. My teen has decided I am the last person she wants to be around, my husband's hours have been ridiculous, and I am being rejected AGAIN by someone who I thought was a close friend. She is one of those people where if you are not the latest greatest thing then she pushes you to the side. I gave her a second chance and I find myself crying into my Diet Dr. Pepper once again. I am sorry if you took it the wrong way...that was never my intention. {{Hugs}}

Help Wanted

I am at one of those points where I want some fun new blogs to read. I love trying out new blogs and making new bloggy friends. I cherish the bloggy friends I have made. I feel so close to several of you. I am looking for suggestions from YOU!

What is a blog that you are excited to go to first? What blog inspires you? What blog makes you laugh? What blog do you think I would LOVE!

BTW...let me know if you are reading my blog and your blog is not on my blogroll in the left column...I want to visit!

My Redneck Man

Yesterday my Dr. Hubby and FIL attended the yearly MEGA fleamarket in a nearby town. He called me and declared it a "hillbilly mall." He was in HEAVEN!

He never leaves the house without an ironed shirt, but he said at the flea market it wouldn't matter.

He said there weren't many women there...maybe 5 young girls and a few chain smokin' grandmas. He came home with a Suzuki Samurai to go "ridge riding", a boat motor, a Smith and Wesson, 2 Beagles, a saddle, and some drill bits. {I WILL be placing an order for my tables from Longaberger tomorrow!} I was shocked at how much he spent...but I LOVE that he had such a good time.

I love that he came home smiling and talking about how great his day was with his Dad. It was hard to give him up for the day...I was even dumb enough to agree to let him go back today. His Dad called at 8AM saying he couldn't sleep for thinking about going back today. I didn't have the heart to tell him "no." So I took a pic of my Louis "Faux"ton purse so he can pick up a matching wallet at the fake purse booth and kissed him goodbye.
Should I be worried that he took the dog crate again?!
And I think I heard him say "coon dog."

Meet HayBale

This is our donkey, HayBale. Why is that her name? Blame the 5 year old that doesn't take time to listen. When she came to Four Seasons Farm her name was Maybelle...Wild Child thought they said HayBale and the rest is history...

I tried to get her to let me pull off those annoying burrs between her eyes, but she is "stubborn as a donkey."

Hope you all have a fabulous autumn weekend!

Tis The Season

One of my fave shops in Amish Country is Tis the Season...a year round Christmas shop.

The peacock tree.

I loved all these glittery pointy thingys popping out of the top of this tree.

I should have brought this cute owl home with me...but I passed.

These poinsettas were gorgeous stuck in this colorful tree. They were covered in glittery beads.

It will be here before we know it!

This "Brussells" I Really Like!

I had a REALLY hard time leaving this furry face in Amish Country.

She is a Brussells Griffon.

She's totally perfected "the face."

Don't stare directly at the cuteness. She REALLY liked me. Mean ol' me came home without her.

Petting

I was so excited to see this petting zoo in Amish Country! I was a little freaked out when the "goat statue" on top of the building started moving! They were real goats!

Poor little things...

A pile of weiney dogs!

Big Ben was HUGE! He came over and posed for me! This picture does not do his "hugeness" justice....he was CRAZY huge!

Amish Autumn

Autumn in Amish Country was full of colorful leaves, mums, and pumpkins. I would love to take the kids back to do a corn maze...but Wild Child and I would have to wear oxygen masks so we could breathe...lol.

Our Dining Area

Welcome to our dining room!

There are curtains now, but I took the pic an hour before my mom brought them in. She made them from Mary Engelbreit fabric. I am currently looking for a new dining room table. I love this square one, but it has lived a hard life.
My hubby took his guns and ammo and crossbow out of his cabinet. He has a HUGE safe he puts that stuff in now. He let me fill it with my Lee Middleton dolls, Annette Funicello bears, Knickerbocker bears, vintage Gerber baby I played with as a child, and Boyds Bears. I added the Scottie quilt my mom made for a back drop. Dr. Hubby's vintage doc bag, antique play car, miner's hat, and oil lamps are on top.

I was so excited to get the wall hanging my mom framed for me up on the wall.

Dr. Hubby bought me this Longaber rack and large basket last Christmas.

I have a slight addiction...can you tell what it is?! lol.

A Peek At Our Family Room

This room is still not complete and kinda feels like we are moving and have packed away everything except the large pieces.

We decided to go with the leather furniture. The pillows are from TJMaxx and bring the orange of this room together with the yellow and red you can see in the dining room. Our flooring is Harvest Oak laminate {cause the littles would DESTROY hardwood} byMohawk. The 3 girls' pictures will hang above the sofa with a Longaberger wood and wrought iron shelf below them.

The rug is from Lowes and is all shaggy and fabulous. This pic does not do it justice. Everytime someone comes over the first thing they say is "I LOVE that rug." I am going to do a creamish tan textured curtain on that window...when I find it.

I am in love with our new fireplace/media console. It actually looks like a fire burning {I should have turned it on for the pic} and will heat up to 200 square feet. I added some Longaberger baskets. I am ordering the wrought iron end tables and coffee table from Longaberger this week.
I will post another update on this room when it is completed.

Hoo's Room Do You Think This Is?

Time to unveil the fruits of my labor...I'll start with the 2 little ones' room.

They love to play with their dollhouse. I noticed the other day in the dollhouse that Cinderella is visiting, the attic is filled with dalmations, and there is a pink Pokemon in the toilet. They also love each and every one of their stuffed animals. I took out 2 black garbage bags full and still ended up with too many for the shelf. The pics under the window are going to be hung at the side of the window.

I am in love with their bedding! It is the Corbin collection at JCPenney. The bed has a trundle that pulls out. They take turns sleeping "on the bottom." It has really created alot of playspace in their small bedroom. I want to add their initials "M & D" in the large wood letters over their bed.

One of their fave additions is the mirror by the closet. Wild Child said, "I've never had a miiirrroorrr before!" Priceless!
We no longer refer to this room as the "ghetto." Amen.

My Head Swelled Right Up!

Last weekend I took Cousin Kayla out and about to capture some senior shots...

We started out in our hay barn.

Then we headed over to our pond.

It was a very cloudy day...but it was all we had to get it done.
We did a little trespassing to get the pics with these old rusty wheels surrounded by goldenrod.

I loved all this rusty fabulous tin in the alley behind Dr. Hubby's office.

In our library's front yard.

At the library's gazebo.

Such a beautiful girl made 2.5 hours and 350 shots a big bunch of FUN!
My head swelled a little when Walmart refused to print them for her mom because "they can not reproduce professional photographs." They made her sign and give her driver's license number before they would print them.
Dr. Hubby and I were dating 3 months when I went to the hospital to see her when she was newborn. The years have flown by...
