Happy Wife...Happy Life!

Dr. Hubby and I left for our weekend getaway on Saturday. We went to Easton in Columbus, OH. We stayed at my fave hotel... the Hilton!

Here's the view out our window...Easton is a shopping community with a town center in the middle.

We started shopping as soon as we got there. These shoes by Harajuku Lovers cracked me up!

We ate dinner at PF Changs and then headed to the movies. We saw My Sister's Keeper....this movie is like sitting next to the road watching your little puppy get run over again and again and it looking at you with its sad puppy eyes saying "Why are you doing this to me?"...bring your tissues. You could hear sniffling through the whole thing and the person next to me...whom shall remain nameless...Dr. Hubby...shed a few tears too. Jodie Piccoult is the female Nicholas Sparks.

On Sunday (after recovering from the depression brought on by that movie) we slept in and then headed to Archivers! This was great therapy!

We also discovered a new addiction...THE CONTAINER STORE! Oh the damage I could do in there. I got the plastic bin and pencil holder in the pic above. Let's just say next time I am bringing the measurements for the shelves in the scrappy schoolhouse!

After a divine lunch at The Cheesecake Factory we headed across the street to the chalk festival.
Children and artists were busy at work and a man walking on stilts added flair!

I added a quick Dr. Hubby + Scrappy Girl #15 on the pavement to celebrate our anniversary! So romantic!

I love watching the kids playing in the fountain...too bad the age limit is 10!

I found this rug for the scrappy schoolhouse at TJMaxx ($7.99).

How could I resist this magnetic plaque with the quote from NJ Housewives! After this trip Dr. Hubby should have a very happy life!
This post is dedicated to Dr. Hubby and his amazing patience while I spent almost 2 hours in Archivers. I love you sweetie!

What a great weekend! It looks so quaint.

And I can't do Nicholas Sparks. Too emotionally manipulative.

Love your finds! And your getaway. I don't think I could get Luvpilot to see that movie AND go shopping in the same trip. That would push him over the edge - lol.

And Kristina - emotionally manipulative? Wow. That's an interesting comment. I love me some Nicholas Sparks.

Husband's motto: Happy Wife, Easy Life. I have to say I wholeheartedly support this notion.

OMG! I am going to TJMaax PRONTO!
Love that rug! I gotta get me one!

Hey, yes, you are right, World Market has my flatware. I found shrimp forks there after I bought my sets at BB&B. I titally forgot to mention that to readers. I cannot recall if I payed less or more or maybe I was too scared to add it up and compare? hee hee!

Sometimes it is better to live in ignorance of such things, (like after the thirty day return policy is up!)

GLad you had such a great time nad yes, Container Store Rocks!

oh, p.s. you are known as "Scrappy" at our house!

who says blog friends are not real friends anyway? The other day I thought I saw a guy who looked weirdly familiar and I was like, OMG! What is IJ doing walking down our street? And then I realized it was not him.

See, we are all connected!

Sounds like you had a great time!

OK have to tell you to go to a bookstore and read the last 2 chapters of My Sisters Keeper the book.
They changed the ending in the movie. I was freaking floored!! The book ending is completely oppositely different (Kate Lives!) and it is also tragic and shocking.
I could not believe they changed the ending of the original book!!
