"A Very Good Night"
Last night when I got home from my shopping trip (which was fabulous!) we all got into our pjs and found our pillows and blankets to pile in the living room. Our niece and nephew joined us. I fixed everyone a cup (or 2) of hot chocolate and we settled in to watch Holly and Hal Moose: Our Uplifting Adventure (abcfamily) that is based on characters from Build A Bear Workshop.
A few minutes into the movie I had Dr. Hubby knock on the wall. I announced that our guests were here. I went to the porch and brought in the Holly and Hal dolls I had picked up at Build A Bear. We each took turns snuggling with them while we watched the rest of the movie. The 2 little ones took Holly and Hal when it was bedtime. When I tucked them in they made sure Holly and Hal were tucked in too.
Wild Child looked at me when I kissed her goodnight and said, "Mom, that movie and hot chocolate made it a very good night." Mission accomplished.
This morning I found a text from Manga Dork to one of her friends saying she was watching "the dumbest movie ever." Teenagers...harder to entertain!

aaaahhh that is the sweetest thing. You are a really fun Mom! I love that you had it all planned out with Santa to bring the present during the movie. Aaaahhh the memories... Plus, hot chocolate, pillows and blankies. Wonderful Christmas memories... AND I know that Magna Dork loved it too...Family time memories always stay with us - no matter they are trying to be a cool teenager - lol!
I say the cornier the better. (is cornier a word? or even spelled correct?) Merry Christmas!
It's hard to get the broad range of ages:) I have that here too. Some things are for the bigger ones and some are for the littler.
Good job Mom!
hot choc and a movie is awesome, funny that manga couldn't appreciate it now (but she'll remember that you took the time when she's older) :D
Teenagers are a handful!
oh you know she loved it! ha ha!
That all sounds so wonderful and making such magical Christmas memories. You are an incredible Mom.
Magnadork might think it silly now, But I bet she was taking it all in deep inside. She will most certainly recreate this someday with her own children I'm sure.
Have a fun and festive weekend and find a beautiful tree, hope no special ornaments get broken this year.
What a fun way to spend an evening! You come up with the Best ideas!! =) I'm sure MangaDork thought it silly at the time, but she will treasure the memories as she grows older....=) I bet the little ones really enjoyed their new guests!!
Have a fun day...=)
wow it's fun actually :)
xx
You guys arent bein very nice=[[[[
That sounds like a fun night. We drv'd Holly & Hal.
Cute idea! I'll bet the little girls were beyond thrilled. I love giving little gifts throught the holidays. It makes each one more special than just recieving a bunch of stuff on Christmas. Each gift has a chance to be loved all on it's own.
thx! This is my second blog. The first blog had some problems so I don't use it anymore. :D
Manga Dork is so cute. "Dumbest movie ever," ha ha- Next time do a twilight movie night (perhaps when the little ones are asleep) and then bring in the twi light dolls to watch with you. *cackle*
I wish we had Cable. :( That movie sounds so cute - I bet my kids would love it!
What a cute idea. And Manga Dork's comment made me laugh.
Very very nice of you to do that! Ha ha, Manga Dork was hard to please but I was much the same at her age. One day she will be super grateful! :)
