Please PETA...Don't Hurt Us!

Saturday we FINALLY made it to the Christmas Tree Farm to pick out our tree!

The little ones loved running around the baby trees...and one child (rhymes with Mild Filed) tried to pull one up out of the ground!

We decided to go with a fir tree...I was not sure I was comfortable with REAL fir...maybe we should go buy a FAUX fir...hahahaha...bet you were wondering how PETA came into our Christmas tree experience!
They trimmed him to 7.5 feet...Dr. Hubby wanted to leave it at 8.5 feet...not a great idea with 8 feet ceilings...duh!
The grandkids of the owners were great helpers and the 2 little ones joined in. They pulled the rope on the machine that put netting all around our tree for the trip home.

It was very very cold...
Hot chocolate warmed us up!
We dropped by Dominos and picked up pizza and went home to watch Merry Madagascar while eating on Merry Madagascar paper plates {it's all about the details}...such a FUN movie!

Then we decorated the tree!

Last year Cutie refused to help...this year she put on her boots and got right to work!

Ok...it's official...I now have the holiday spirit that makes me REALLY annoying to those around me who have not caught it yet...I am singing carols in the car, house, shower, etc...I am wanting to put on a Santa hat and hideous sweater...I want to watch a Christmas movie EVERY night til the big day...
Happy Early Birthday Jesus! I love how on your birthday you give us such feelings of joy and happiness and love and family...
Happy Monday!
Have you caught the spirit yet?

Cute post! I have been against the "having a real tree" idea for awhile...because of the mess. But, you made it look so fun that I may have to rethink it for next year. I need to get some Christmas spirit. Thanks for brightening my day.

Oh, I miss real trees. We decided to fake it last year, after we almost got divorced over our Christmas tree a few years ago.
I wrote about it last year. I should repost it.

How fun. I'm laughing at the PETA joke. I think I need to go pick up that movie. Sounds cute and we love Madagascar!

Beautiful! Now I'm gonna have to turn on my Scentsy thingy with the faux pine smell so I can pretend my faux tree is a real tree! LOL!

I have ALMOST fully caught the Christmas spirit. I've gotta head downstairs to my 'workshop' to sew up American Girl Doll Clothes. That ALWAYS puts me in the Christmas spirit- making gifts for my family. I'll be so sad when my girls are too grown for dolls and doll clothes! LOL!

Together We Save...nope it is just one I bought YEARS ago at Walmart when they carried alot of the characters that lit up and did motion. All three of mine no longer light up or move, but they are still cute!

I found the Christmas spirit about a week ago. Its been crazy for me trying to get everything done that I want to. There is never enough time.. Each year I say I'm going to start earlier and it never happens :) Your tree is beautiful! and I love the fresh air sign!

I miss the smell of real pine in the house. i have to use a pine scent in my candle breeze.

I did picture Clark Griswold with the mention of an 8.5 ft tree and only 8 ft ceilings.

The tree picking trip seemed to turn out really nice. It does look cold. I have only had a real tree once and it fell over before Christmas. Sorry about the little ones toe...ouch.
