Oh January...

...you do it to me every year. You begin with excitement...confetti...cheering...a happy kiss...my MIL shooting a gun into the air from my front porch {insert eye roll} causing me to threaten the kids if they dare try to go outside with her. I love putting the new calendar on the fridge...so pretty and lacking all my writing in the sometimes too small squares. I love a new beginning...

Then January 12th or so rolls around. I find myself overwhelmed...depressed...bored. My house is a disaster and I am so tired of all the mess...the fighting...the crying...the whining. I feel I have lost control of everything. I have a very short fuse. I yell...I cry...I send all the tension straight to my back muscles! {Ouch}

I have so many things going around in my head right now...so many things I want to change or fix...so many things that seem out of control...but most of all I keep thinking...

I hate January.

I hear ya Sista! Let's all hate January!
It's the evil month that must be destroyed.
Why can't we go straight from the holidays to June? I wanna know!

I feel your pain and honey you ain't alone!
You are much better than you are giving yourself credit for.

I was just thinking today that January is such a boring and depressing month. Only a few weeks left...then February.

You and me both, Scrappy! So much of ME to fix, so little ambition (at least in January).

And, by the way, Amy (comment above me) is my cousin who has an awesome blog that not nearly enough people are reading. She's hilarious so you should go check it out!

now we know where wild child gets her sense of adventure. She shoots her gun off on your front porch? For real?

Oh, see yours is a bit delayed...mine hits right after the first! I'm actually moving out of it and becoming okay with things now. I hope you get to that point soon! (Although, I'm pretty DARNED sure we would both do better if we lived in, oh, I don't know...PHOENIX! I need sun. LOL!)

I think it's unanimous... they just need to do away with January all together!!!
I hate it because I get all hyped up on the idea of change... and by the middle of the month I discover I'm worse than I was before I ever set those ridiculous goals and just wanna be left along :)

I used to hate January too, until I moved to AZ. Something about 70 degree temps and being able to plant flowers brings out the happy in me. And I've been spring cleaning as well. Lots more to do however.

January is no fun. Added pressure of resolutions, work, work, and more work. Then there is stuff that needs to be done - hang in there, it is almost February and then you can start fresh once more!
