I Love These More Than I Love A Denim Skirt!

We are getting ready to redecorate some things. One is our living room. Dr. Hubby suggested we get a leather living room set so we went looking for all things leather. I sat on them. They feel a little like I am waiting in a doctor's office or something. Will it make my butt sweat if I sit for awhile? Will the backs of my legs have to be peeled off of the seat? Then I ran into this...

and this...
and this...

Holy denim! I am in love! L.O.V.E. This is the Hanover Denim collection.
Now I just have to get Dr. Hubby on board.

Couldn't you just make out with this ottoman?
What are your experiences with leather furniture? Like or dislike?

It doesn't seem very cozy to me, but I've never owned it.

I love leather! BUT I don't live in a humid climate either- might be different if I did.

From a decorating perspective, all matching pieces is boring. If you go with the denim couch and loveseat then get a super-comfy leather chair in a coordinating color that can be 'Dad's Chair'. It will be more interesting than all matching pieces and make BOTH of you happy!

Cynthia I totally agree. We will only be getting the sofa and loveseat. Then we have a rocker that we will be adding in there. All those pieces would be overkill...definitely!

Those are very cute.

We had a leather sectional that we loved. It was the most comfy thing ever. It didn't make us sweat either, it felt cool on our hot AZ skin. It cleaned well when things got spilled on it, didn't attract dust or lint, etc. After it got old and worn, we bought another one from a different store and hated it. It didn't wear well and within a couple of months the seating areas were wearing off. We also have a really nice leather chair from the same store in the den that we love. It's so soft and comfy and has worn well and cleans easily.

So I guess do your research and know what you're getting.

Leather looks pretty but I don't like it.. I always stuck to leather and I've seen some that end up cracked and that just looks ugly.. I love, love the denim couch and love seat.. They look great and should wear well.. And I agree, add a different pc of furniture thats not denim.. Have fun decorating..

i hated leather, cold in winter, sticky in summer - but i sucked it up and got leather b/c the kidlets are so small they wreck everything else and make it nasty. biggest plus for leather - it washes right off LOL :D

We have a leather sofa and we live in a humid climate. I love our sofa. It's easy to clean and comfortable.

Good leather is wonderful. Not the pleather but good leather.

The denim is cute, but more a family room kinda thing I think.

Do you want your daughters to be making out on that?

I'll be curious to see how it turns out?

I adore my leather! I don't stick to them, and even if it's cool at first to sit, it warms quickly. The clean up is SO WORTH IT!!

I like the look of leather, but if you live in a climate where it gets cold in the winter... BBRRRR... You have to sit on a blanket or something..

We all LOVE with a capital "L" our leathers couches. They are soooo soft and we always say the most comfy couches we have ever sat, laid, and slept on!
We have never stuck to them at all (I think that is only in cars).
The best part about leather is they clean up so well. Unlike fabric you can just wipe them off so they are very kid friendly.
There are different grades of leather - get a good one and you'll be happy and it won't feel like a Dr.s office.
I love the denim here too - it looks like fun and comfy also but one spill and it's all over!

i heart my leather sectional.

i had a denim chair and love seat and with kids it got grimy and faded. and didn't look all that great for very long. i ended up getting rid of it way faster than i ever thought i would considering how much i LOVED it. it was the idea of it more than the functionality. daRN IT.

my leather looks FABULOUS. was cool in summer and warm in winter. cleans well etc.

Lov emy leather sofa. I don't think I will ever own anything else. Its so easy to clean, especially with pets. I use liquid gliserin to clean it and it looks brand new. Buy high end leather, it will weather beautifully. The more you sit, scratch and break it in, the more beautiful it becomes. It doesn't sweat and no you won't stick to it. Its not as cozy in the winter though and sometimes I lay a quilt down first if I am not feeling well and gonna watch tv for a long time. I had a deniem sofa once and we all loved it. It was soooo comfortable to sleep on and such. A great napping place. The only problem I had with it was.....I am so OCD and after a few years....like 2, the sofa always looked messy. I was constantly striaghtening up the back and the cushions and the pillows. It eventually drove me crazy because it made my living room always looks disheleved. However I loved the the cushioned coverings unzipped and the deniem fabric could be washed in the washing machine. The sofa is long gone now, but I still have the 2 large cushions as dog beds....there the best, and I am still washing the coverings monthly and they are still holding up very well. I have even patched one. Good luck and have fun shopping.

I didn't get leather because my dogs nails would scratch it up. We have a leather recliner, though, and they seem to leave that chair alone. Guess they don't like the smell or something. No one really sits in that chair too often, funny, huh?
