Yesterday was a rough day. It was one of those days where my energy was nonexistent and the house was in turmoil. The kids couldn't get within 5 feet of each other without fighting. Over the phone Dr. Hubby agreed to hurry home so I could escape to my scrappy schoolhouse for a few hours.
When he got home he must have changed his mind because he loaded up our little family in his "play" truck. (Notice the thumb tacks holding up the ceiling) Cutie Patootie had to "help" him drive. We were headed to the pond...perfect!...cause I was already feeling like a grumpy old toad.
I grabbed my camera on the way out the door. I am not a fisherman so I needed a way to entertain myself while being eaten alive by bugs. This is the view of our home from the pond.
There are so many interesting things around a pond.
This prickly little plant was so cute...at this moment I am sure that if I was a pond plant I would have been this one. If this were the desert I would have been a cactus.
I heard Cutie say "I broke it." I thought "Oh no...she broke a pole or something like that." But she had "broke" a worm. Now my mind started thinking about how gross it is to break a worm...so I started to gag...gag...gag...gag. Cutie was overtired and started doing the throw-yourself-on-the-ground-hang-on-your-dad's-leg diva cry. We looked at Wild Child and her eyes were so swollen (allergies) that she looked like a bug-eyed chihuahua. Manga Dork caught some snail filled pond scum and refused to remove it herself. Dr. Hubby reeled in his line and declared it was time to go home. Hallelujah.
I bathed the little ones...gave Wild Child some Benadryl and a cold rag for her eyes...gave Cutie some milk and her "bappy"...then put them to bed. Manga Dork curled up on her bed and watched Grease 2. Dr. Hubby and I watched the end of "Lucky You" and then I went to bed.
Have a happy fun-filled weekend!

What a cute post. :) I love that she broke a worm. I did that too several times a few weeks ago with my shovel, digging weeds out of my garden. My one comfort was that Hubby insisted it didn't hurt the worm and that like a lizard who has lost it's tail, it grows itself together again.
I totally don't know if any of that is true, but I wanted to believe him so I did. Is it crazy that I don't want to hurt even a worm?
ANY how, cute blog. I love all your pictures. I've seen your profile picture twice today on both blogs I've commented on, so I thought I'd just come say hi. :)
Even though this is the cutest post, I can't stop laughing at your grumpy toad comment. Hilarious. Hope you are feeling more happy troll like today :)
Scrappy, I hope you are feeling better today. Your post was delightful though, I loved how you compared yourself to the prickly water plant and the grumpy toad. You really do have a lovely pond and a nice view from your house too....=)
It sounds like your day ended well. It would be nice to have a pond that close. I think I would take a chair, sit by it and read a book and bask in the sounds of nature. :)
P.S.....Have a great weekend! =)
I just love where you live!
Scrappy, those pictures are great. I hope you had a good time.
I try, I think I need learn my camera more. Sorry the allergies kicked in on wild child.
We cooked out ribs today, and one of our pups got "C's" so I had to get him more, then I .....dropped them....I fixed him more. I waited on the meltdown, but I was forgiven. Ha......
Have a great weekend, relax.
Later girl!!!!
I must say that four seasons farm is absolutely beautiful. The view from the pond is breath taking. Your camera really takes such clear beautiful pictures. I need one of those. I wonder if I am really really good - would Santa give me one - LOL!
I hate allergies. Brady has a terrible time with them too. Poor little girl with swollen eyes. It's so nice when they get to sleep - it remindes me of the Youtube video I used to have on my blog from Hillary Weeks when she sang about her favorite things "bedtime and naptime".. Giggle!
Take care and I hope you are feeling cheerful tomorrow.
great pictures!!!!
too bad about the allergies, though... :(
and yeah.. she Broke a Worm... eeew!!!! ha haa haaa!!!
and yeah... you are so right. PONDS are adventures all on theire own, aren't they? sometimes you can find strange mutations, too!!!!
I've broken a few worms too gardening. I'll bet she looked up at you with those big, sad eyes too. Not being into fishing myself, I'd be ready to leave too. Beautiful setting though for your home. Wow!
Allergies stink!!
Your pictures are always so fun! Maybe one of these days we should have a big 'ol blogger party out on the Four Seasons Farm - You don't even have to tell us your real name - We could make somethign up like Roxanne or Mindy Sue!!
Hey that could be a fun contest...Just sayin!!
P.S. Hope your week goes better - Smile!!
even with all the creepy crawlies, that is a beautiful view!
