Ok All You PreThanksgiving Christmas People

thanksgiving turkey Pictures, Images and Photos

I {heart} Thanksgiving. I love the family moments, feasting, thankfulness, etc.

Today on the way to drop Wild Child at preschool I noticed that the preThanksgiving decorators had been very busy while I was at home cropping online this weekend. Now I totally understand putting up your lights on a beautiful warm November weekend...I get that. BUT...there is no exscuse for putting Santa on your porch...or FROSTY! I mean come on...wait til you eat the turkey and then pop that Santa out the door...takes maybe 2 seconds. AND resist the urge to turn on those lights until Thanksgiving evening. Y.O.U.C.A.N.D.O.I.T.

At our home we barely mention "the C word" til Thanksgiving Eve.

How do you eat Thanksgiving with Christmas decor staring at ya? Don't your guests get confused when they walk up on your porch and are greeted by Rudolph wishing them "Merry Christmas?" If your not careful Cousin Clifford with his IQ of 70 will think he is late and turn around and go home!

I was almost home and safely past all the "C word" decorations when Britney Spears came on Sirius Ch. 20 singing her smutty "3"...I refuse to listen to her garbage...so I changed it to Ch. 23.

They have renamed it "HOLLY" and I was greeted by Michael Buble singing "The Christmas Song."

I give up.

I refuse to put up "C" decorations or listen to "C" music until the day after Thanksgiving! I won't even walk into the "C" deocrations in the stores until after Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving and it has been so overshadowed my "C" for years now!

Today I will browse for ideas for gifts tho as I'm home feeling icky, so might as well take advantage of the time.

P.S. Thanks for the heads-up about Sirius channel 23 now being Holly...I will avoid it for now! =)

I agree too! I do a little shopping and start making cards but no decorations until after Thanksgiving. I leave all my Fall stuff up until December 1.. I hate that Christmas stuff is in the stores the day after Halloween. I'm tempted.... But I don't buy any new decorations until after Thanksgiving... I try not to even look. And for the Music.... I love it... but a couple weeks is long enough. Wait until mid December to start playing it... No I'm not a scrooge. I love Christmas! When it's time :)

We buy our tree (at the Christmas tree farm) late Thanksgiving afternoon after everyone has gone home.
Until then, no one says the "C" word.

I thought I was the only one! People were putting up lights this weekend and I was not amused!

I know, it seems like people skip right over Thanksgiving and go to Christmas...let's enjoy one holiday at a time! Can't wait for Thanksgiving. :)

Um, Vanessa is partly right....

....I have two trees up.

I know, I know, I don't normally decorate this early, but I have bunko at my house one week after Thanksgiving, and I have 12 trees and 13 crates of Christmas decor!! I think I'm going to cut back this year, though. Maybe only 4 trees. Or 5. Maybe 6.

BUT, you will be happy to know, I still have Thanksgiving going on all over my front porch. No need to let the neighbors see my insanity. It's bad enough that Luvpilot is taking pics and making fun of me on his forum that he reads.

Oh I totally love HWOC...I need to post my thoughts.

whoopsies!! I am one of those girls. I have a little of both going on. I'm like Tammy, my porch is Thanksgiving..But the inside is now Christmasie..

My life is so demanding right now, that a girl's gotta do what she has to do.

Seriously, I hate it when people decorate or play Christmas music before it's time. I think its a merchandising conspiracy. Halloween is a modest money maker, Christmas is a huge money maker. Thanksgiving just falls short, unless you sell turkeys I guess. And yes, I am no prude, but Britney's new stuff is disgusting.

Bah humbug... :-D

I usually have my tree up before I leave for Thanksgiving ... so that when I return it is all done and I can enjoy the holidays. I don't know if I will get it done this year... I am really busy.

Christmas music....well.... I've been listening to it for about a month. Last year I hardly listened to it because I was addicted to the Twilight soundtrack... I'm really into Christmas music this year... It seems like it's been years --- well...2 years. :-D
Our radio station started playing it 24/7 last week... I did think that was odd.

Yeah! New Moon in just 2 days..
