Lady In Waiting...Not Anymore!

We toasted in the New Year last night with a party at our home with all the family here on the farm. We played partini, the game of things, and apples to apples. At times we laughed til tears ran down our cheeks. It was fun.

I love new beginnings. I am looking forward to working on my "35 Things" list this year. I was trying to remember what I was doing on New Year's Eve 2000. Oh yeah...it pretty much sucked. Dr. Hubby and I stayed at FIL/MIL's home while everyone went to the hospital for the birth of a cousin. We thought they would come home. I had the party ready...we waited...and waited...and the ball dropped...and we went to bed.

One thing that drives me nuts about get-togethers here on the farm is that usually BIL/SIL are rudely late...not 5 or 10 minutes...we are talking 30-45! We usually wait on them to get here before we eat of start celebrating.

Well, last night I decided to start this decade off a little differently. No more waiting. We had already eaten before they walked through the door. Funny thing is...I don't think they even cared. Oh well...made me feel alot better!

btw...my camera is not broken...just the lens. I am substituting the 55-200 until I can find a new one.

Happy 2010!
What was your resolution?

Sounds like a fun night! And good on you for not playing the waiting game anymore.

No resolutions here. Just keep on trucking the best I can.

Happy New Year Scrappy!Sounds like you rang in the New Year in a fun and festive way.

So glad your camera is not broken. I bet that made you feel a lot better knowing it was just the lens and not the entire camera.

As for resolutions....hmmmm, I didn't make any last night. I was too busy worrying about our son who was driving back to his home in a terrible storm!! Maybe a good resolution for me for 2010 would be not to worry so much.

Have a wonderful, fun filled day!

i'm so glad your camera is not broken! And glad you started off the new year with a new attitude of not waiting on others to get your party started! And I bet you're right, they could probably care less. In fact they probably never realized you waited in the past. People who are late usually don't clue into these sensitivities anyway.

I'm not a big fan of resolutions because I rarely keep them past January 15th. I prefer to work slowly and continually on self-improvement. Maybe I'm just chicken?

I sat on the love seat with hubby and drank champagne while his head continually tipped forward until the ball dropped and then I let him go to bed. ha ha!

You didn't wait? You ate without them?
AWESOME!!!!!
You are my new hero. I think I'll adopt that as my new resolution.
I have made about a million resolutions. Everytime I hit a blog of a resolution I like I make that one.
Sounds like you had a great time!
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Mrs Scrappy Girl!! I sure hope that 2010 will give you much happiness, safety, peace and love.

It sounds like your New Year was wonderful! We used to wait for my sister too - but we finally quit doing it and started eating without them. It's rude to arrive that late... good for you!

Our New Year was boring. I didn't think about a game until about 11:30. Digital TV died during the storm, I didn't even purchase poppers this year because of the storm - I stayed home. It was just Brady and me - boring... but we stayed up and cheered with sparkling cider. We were safe and home, but wasn't fun and exciting - oh well..

I'm super glad your camera wasn't broken... you are very blessed (you know). Happy New Year!

No resolutions for me! No sense in setting myself up for failure. I know me all too well.
