What Happens In Vegas...Day #2

Our day started with breakfast at the Grand Luxe Cafe...our first Vegas buffet! Then we headed out onto the strip!


It is so cool to see these hotels in person. We are going to watch the Treasure Island show, but unfortunately we have been warned it is not as G-rated as before.

Shooting with my 55-200 Nikon lens was driving me nuts so we went into a Nikon store. I came out with my beloved 18-55 lens...2 lens protectors...a polarized filter...and a lens that does fisheye, wide-angle, and macro.

After making Dr. Hubby's credit card sweat we headed to the Flamingo. Here are the live flamingos at the Flamingo.

And me with the "not so live" flamingos in the fountain. This hotel was originally owned by the mobster Bugsy Siegel.

By this time we were wanting some lunch so we made a decision that was not the best {hindsight is 20/20 definitely}. We had the chinese at Wild Bill's Gambling Hall & Saloon. Let me tell ya...I have been known to jokingly say that I could eat ROTTEN chinese...I was wrong.

BUT if we had not eaten there we would have missed seeing an Elvis impersonator...one of the necessities on our Vegas list. This is BIG ELVIS. Yep...that is his belly hanging over the chair he had to sit in to sing!

Manga Dork had a hard time getting the sweat wiped off her arm after taking this pic. He did sing very well though.

We walked back to the hotel and met Dr. Hubby. Then we all headed for the Fashion Show Mall. Doesn't it look like a UFO crashed into it?

The Betsey Johnson store was adorable. Manga Dork wore high heel wedges and her new wrap dress that she bought on the strip...you can make all kinds of different styles out of it...very cool. Her feet, however, died on the first floor of the mall. Beauty = pain.

I love the time we spend with Dr. Hubby on these trips.

We hurried back to the room to watch the American Idol results show...we are dedicated fans. I am loving the special guest performances this year. David Cook...Yay!
