Like A Tween At A Justin Bieber Concert

I have a fear. Well, not sure if I would call it a fear or...shoot I don't know what you would call it...a weakness maybe?! I am posting today to confess one of my secrets. Something I have not revealed to the bloggy world...

I NEVER cook raw meat. E.V.E.R. Nope not even hamburger. I don't even know how to "brown" hamburger.

Well, I am attempting to rid myself of this weakness. So I actually ventured into the meat dept. and purchased this pack of pork chops. My head was spinning and I thought I was going to hit the floor like a tween at a Justin Bieber concert! But I made it...

Yesterday I readied my ingredients. Game on...

While getting the chops out of the package and into the crock pot I had visions of Justin Bieber again...my heart was pounding...I even started to sweat. I sliced the onion {the tears were from the onion, right?}.

Then I happily mixed the other ingredients and poured them on top of the chops and onions.

In 6 hours I had tender chops and a delicious smelling home! I served the chops with mashed potatoes and brocolli w/cheese. I forgot to take a pic of my plate so this is the bowl I put up for Dr. Hubby {who is in the doghouse cause he "accidentally" ate out with his parents}.
I got the recipe from one of my newest bloggy finds...My Favorite Everything. She had linked to the recipe in her weekly menu.
The kids and I loved this meal and I am putting it in the recipe file! It's a keeper!
Crock Pot Pork Chops
4 whole lean pork chops
1 med. onion sliced or diced
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms {I didn't use these}
2 cans {10.75 oz.} mushroom soup
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dried parsley
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
Place chops in crock pot. Lay onion slice and mushrooms over chops.
Mix other ingredients in a bowl and pour over chops.
Cook on low for 5-6 hours {or 1 hour in oven at 350 degrees}
Serve with mashed potatoes.
Note: After baking remove chops and strain gravy. Reserve mushrooms and onions for those who want them.

Every week I am going to try a new recipe! Got an easy one you think I should try? Email me at girl {dot} scrappy {at} yahoo {dot} com!

I love my crockpot. And while I'm not a fan of cooking, it does make things easier if I HAVE to.

You sound like my daughter. She will not even remotely handle raw meat. Congrats on overcoming your fear. : ) The chops do look good.

I don't like to eat a lot of meat, but what do you guys eat for dinner all the time if you never fix meat?

This looks yummy. Although Luvpilot once got food poisoning from crock pot pork chops so I'm not sure he'd go for it. I probably shouldn't have told you that.

I'll look for some good recipes for you. I just bought a cookbook at Connor's school's bookfair yesterday that looked like it had some good ones.

We usually eat alot of processed frozen foods. We eat meat, but it never comes in our home raw. We have a rotisserie from Walmart every 2 weeks too. Not to mention we eat out ALOT!

How do you not buy raw meat?
Seriously?
What do you eat?
I'm so intrigued.

That looks tasty! Is this part of your 35 things list? I can cook raw meat but I will NOT eat meat off a bone. Ick!

Ugggh...I hate raw meat too! I will never ever squish up beef for burgers.:-) But I do cook for the rest of the family so I handle the meat...until I can convince everyone we don't need it:-)

I am making your recipe for my husband. He loves pork chops and I never make them.

I have an amazing recipe for chicken and also one for ribs that I'll try to remember to send you today. If I forget...yell at me. They are soooooo good and EASY!!!! People who visit from out of state request them every time:-)

Cynthia this is not one of my 35 things...it should have been though!

We eat meat...but it is mostly frozen type things like lasagna or things that are heat and eat. And we LOVE Walmart's rotisserie chicken. We eat out ALOT!

I am so flattered...from a non cooking hot mess of a homemaker to someone who shared the recipe for dinner...wow! After years of being made fun of for not cooking this feels pretty good!

This was yummy! My oldest and my husband wanted seconds. The pork chops were so tender. And I loved how easy it was. Crockpot meals like that are the best.

I am in shock...you never cook raw meat?

Here I am, a person who can't stand meat especially RAW meat ...but I have to suffer thru it to make dinner for the family...not that I ever end up eating it!

how funny is that!

I'll have to try this one for the family...I don't think I have ever even bought pork chops.
