A Very "Creamy" Debate

The other day I picked up a package of creme horns for my dear Dr. Hubby. He {hearts} them. The other night he was eating one and offered me a bite. Trying to be funny? sexy? I took my tongue and barely tipped it to the icing on the end. Then Dr. Hubby tried to get me to take a bite again. I did not want it. He goes over and tears off the end section I had barely tipped the tip of my tongue on. Then HE THROWS IT IN THE TRASH!

I was hurt. He would not eat it. I felt like he thought I was germy. I then declared a complete ban on anything involving my tongue.

The next day he decided to ask "the office girls" during lunch. He says they agreed it was gross and they would have torn it off too. Don't even get me started on how I feel about him mentioning my attempt at "humorous sexy." Won't be showing my face in there for a while!

I can totally understand his reaction if I would have licked down the entire pastry!

So my question to you is...

If your spouse or significant other tipped their tongue to the end of your creme horn...what would you do?

hide the rest of the creme horns! lol!

okay, I am going to side with you on this, he should have at least waited until you had left the room and been discreet about throwing it out. And he sure never should have told the office girls about something so personal.

Alright, now from his side, being a doctor, he is just trying to keep from spreading any possible flu germs or such in the house. And d'uh of course HIS employees are going to side with him! AT least he could have done is ask someone with no skin in the game!

I would keep my tongue to myself too after that!

oh, and I would take the office some creme horns tomorrow, and not in the original package, just as a reminder to them who is who!

but that's just me.

That is funny! I think I would've been offended too. Only a doctor?? My husband wouldn't have torn it off, he would have offered to go get a whole can of whip cream for me! Really, don't you share those germs anyway, just by kissing each other?

That is just weird.

Gotta love that spunky Dana! Take in some creme horns- DARE you! Sorry your feelings were hurt. I'm not picking sides though but I will say that it is unlikely he was trying to hurt your feelings (even though he succeeded in doing it).

I would totally just eat the creme horn - no biggie. I was a little surprised at your hubby's reaction but even more surprised that he would bring it up at the office.

My husband probably would have done the same thing. He's weird about germs and food. He would have laughed and kind of made it a joke though...or maybe would have tried to smash it in my face before throwing it away.. I wouldn't take it personal..

'fraid I'd have eaten it. It's not like you don't share germs anyway.

I think smashing it in his face would have been hilarious.

I like the smashing it in his face suggestion - ha ha. I think I would have been a little more upset that he talked about your personal business at the office.

I have to stop laughing before I write this. Because it's funny, but in a not funny sort of way.
My first thought is that your husband, being a MD, might have a different take of the whole germ thing, but it's not like you were a patient coming in for a strep test or something like that. I don't know what it is about someone licking something that is just off putting. If I offered my husband a taste of something and he just licked it, I would probably have done the same as the doc, but if he had taken a bite, I would have continued eating off the end he bit off of. I think it has to do with the tongue...I'm not sure. So that in and of its self would not have been enough to make me mad. Where hubby MD went wrong and crossed the line was soliciting outside feedback. Sorry doc, you just lost all support on that one. You're now in the dog house.
