Not Exactly The Day I Had Planned

Yesterday was an interesting day. We were taking a day to go pick out costumes for Halloween. On our way out I stopped at the schoolhouse to get the card I made for MIL to give to her lawyer. I decided to take a pic for the blog before giving it to her. My camera battery was DEAD!

We get in town and everyone is hungry. We decide to go in Red Lobster...yum! We have to leave Red Lobster before even sitting down because Cutie freaked out over the lobster tank! We ate at Eat n Park. It was good.

We go to the mall to visit the Spirit of Halloween. Both little ones freak out and refuse to enter the store! This pushed my buttons and the day that I was so excited about went the wrong direction.* Why are almost all the adult costumes for sluts? It is amazing who they can turn into a floozy...Strawberry Shortcake...Alice In Wonderland...The Queen of Hearts...I was surprised they didn't have a sleezy Mother Theresa...gee!

We left and went to another costume store. Dr. Hubby had to sit in the Escalade with the 2 little ones. Manga Dork tried on a bazillion costumes and finally decided on going Gangster! When she brought her costume to the car Wild Child decided she would be brave and enter the store. This is when I realized she had used crayons to draw down her brand new pants!** She chose a cat costume. Cutie refused to go in and wanted the same cat costume.

When we got home all 3 kids were excited to put on their costumes. I guess we were successful.***

*At this point I may have pouted and fussed and acted 13. I may have announced that I wanted to "just go home." I may have began ruining the day for everyone else.
**At this point I may have teared up and announced that I just wanted to go to bed so this day
would just be over.
***At this point I had apologized to Dr. Hubby and Manga Dork on the way home and realized what a big baby I was being just because things didn't go my way.

Its hard to have so many different personalities and moods all inner mingle together. But when you're the Mommy.. It should go your way... right? Its hard to have the bubble burst. Glad it worked out in the end. :)

I act like that too...sometimes! I hate it when a day does not go as planned...I guess I'm a control freak!

I ordered the boys costumes on-line...it worked out great this year!

can't wait to see your kids all dressed up in Halloween photos! FUN!

It is hard being the mom. You are the one trying to appease everyone else. It's okay that you had a meltdown and let your feelings be known:)

AND~you have your costumes done! Which is alot more than I can say! Ugh! I still have to face that shopping trip!

We Moms have these scripts in our heads of how we think things are going to go. The problem is always that the family doesn't have the script OR they are busy fullfilling their own. Sigh. Sorry it didn't go the way you wanted.

Thanks for reminding us all-- that there are those days when disappointment looms in the air..When all our good intentions seem to be in vain.

What I loved , is you caught yourself, and made things right.

I love my flaws..That's what makes others relate to me. and it always makes the best posts♥lol

Aww, I'm sorry your didn't go better! Lol, you did post about costumes too...I admit the costumes are pretty bad. Believe it or not I have never worn one of the sexy costumes just because I felt they were too sexy and like a slut, like you said. So...I need to find something that works in between the two. Wish me luck.

Aw, sorry your day didn't go as planned. I hate it when that happens. But at least you accomplished what you wanted: all the kiddies now have Halloween costumes, yay! Now let's cross our fingers that no one changes their mind before Halloween...that's happened in my house before!

Sorry that your day didn't go as planned. That has happened to me lots of times when doing stuff with the kids.
But at least you got the costumes!

I find that a good sense of humor is the best defense on days like this. Sometimes we just have to be thankful we can start all over tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and I don't ever think manners are "weird". :)
