That Is So Gay!
Recently while watching the teen channel "The N" I heard a commercial starring Hillary Duff that was talking about how offensive the statement "That is so gay" is to gay people. Teaching teens to be tolerant of the lifestyle saddens me. The homosexual lifestyle goes against the teachings of the Bible. I dread the day when it is not unusual for a gay couple to be seen regularly showing affection (hand holding, kissing, etc.) in public even in rural areas such as where I live. There are so many things out there targeting our teens to teach them that homosexuality is not wrong...it is up to us to teach them that being gay IS weird and strange and NOT normal. They should not be mean or violent, BUT when confronted with it they should not be "politically correct." They should stand up for the teachings of God and let them know it is not OK!

i have to say, not to contradict myself in my own post today where i referred to my gay BIL and a couple gay friends, but i was flipping thru the TV the other day and a double shot at love on mtv???? a reality game show where young men & women compete for the love of 2 TWIN GIRLS. bisexual. i kinda gagged a little and turned the channel. nothing like exploiting yourself for some attention!
i know its wrong and i know what the Bible teaches. as far as my opinion goes though, the gays that i know personally, well, BIL i can't help but be related to him. and the lesbians i know are truely genuinely nice and good hearted people.
so my opinion is to hate the sin, not the sinner.
and for the record, i totally use the phrase 'that's so gay' all the time with my sister. =P

It is a different world now. I use to have a horse named Gay. Those were the funner days I guess.
Marchelle...definitely...that is what we teach too...don't hate the sinner...just the sin. Well put.
I was in shock when I saw a preview for that show too. Shameful!
That is SOOO GAY! seriously people need to be less offended. if you're gay own it and take all of the jokes that come with it. HEck, black people do, jews do and so does every other race, ethnic and creed.
We do not promote bigotry or racism or prejudices but for realz! Hillary duff is so gay!

I don't like that expression, but I have used it, and been called down for it, so maybe that is why.
I know lots of gay people, and I am related to some, too. I love them, but I do wish they would control their actions a little better. And for the record I feel the same way for people who cheat on their spouses.
I agree! Its a sin. Everyone should be educated that its a sin. But.. Accept them for who they are. And if they have to be that way... they shouldn't flaunt it to prove a point. I've quit watching many TV shows because they all seem to think they need to make one of the characters Gay! Even though they've been straight and even married previous years! It saddens me!
I agree Michelle...I refused to watch Grey's Anatomy this season because of the lesbian story line. I heard that they got rid of it though!
