Last Thursday Manga Dork and I went to sign up for TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly). Since I knew it would mostly be older people I invited one of Manga Dork's friends to join with us. I knew she was planning on dieting over the summer. Well, when we got there and weighed I was in shock. Their scales weighed me 20 pounds heavier than my Wii! I even went to Dr. Hubby's office this past Monday to see if their scales were ok. Unfortunately TOPS scales are pretty accurate.
As part of my weight loss effort I decided to walk down and then back up our hill once a day. It's not quite as steep as this pic, but it sure felt like that to this fat chick. Yesterday as I was walking back up I did not think I would make it. I had to stop half way. Then I heard voices..."You can do it Mom." "Come on Scrappy you can do it." "Woo Hoo!" It was Manga Dork and her BFF Nicole cheering me on from the top. My own personal cheering section. I made it to the top huffing and puffing thanks to those sweet girls. Gotta love 'em!

Now the sound of music is blaring in my head.
Good luck on the Tops. I have heard great things about the program.
sweet! Life is better with a cheering section.
How disheartening. Good for you for making a goal and getting right to it! Weightloss is SO HARD.
And heck YES I'm watcing the Bachelorette!! I ♥ Jillian. I think Wes is horrible and hope he goes next week.
p.s. the site blogthedayaway.com is where I go to talk about TV! It's pretty small, but they watch a lot of popular shows. Now I don't feel like I have to talk about it all the time on my blog!!
How nice it is to have your own cheering section! I think it would be more likely that I would get heckled! Just kidding. You are very brave with the whole diet thing. I'm losing the battle.
Everyone needs their own cheering section. Funny how my kids are so watchful of what I'm eating, making sure I don't eat the bad stuff. I'm not climbing any hills, but I'm trying to run my stairs often.
That is so awesome! I started out on my hill too and thought I was going to die - now I can't wait to get out there.
