We live in a VERY small rural town that has an annual yard sale in June. We have only lived here for 2 years and I am a little out of touch with things since I have been busy with the 2 babies. Now that they are older I thought I would join in and have a yard sale with everyone. Well for a couple weeks I have been cleaning out my home and basement. I have been organizing and pricing (with my cute neon price stickers) all our unwanted items. Hubby even put his trailer in the garage so I could lay my stuff out the night before and he could hook to it and pull it out in the morning. So sweet and helpful!
Well...hubby called when he got to work this morning and said that there were TONS of yard sales. My response, "Oooh good, just imagine what tomorrow will be like when it is the actual main day!" This evening my friend (who I thought was setting up with me on our farm) calls and says she set up at the fire dept. I told her that all my stuff was loaded on the trailer and ready to go. She is REALLY quiet and then says, "Umm...you do know that today is the only day they have the community sale?!"
Needless to say, I did not. Sooooo....I guess all my work was for nothing and I feel like crying in my Diet Coke. One of three things is going to happen. A. I pack everything in the Escalade and haul it to Goodwill. B. I put stuff in basement and wait for Fall Community Sale (From what I hear this one doesn't do very well though) C. I advertise and have one by myself.
Right now I refuse to look in the garage at the trailer and I am going to bed. Brighter Side= My house is cleaner!
Happy Friday!

i would be cryin' in my Diet Coke!!! But...you are right...atleast your house is cleaner!
So sorry - a good cry into the diet coke does sound like its in order (this is SO something I would do, by the way).
Dont cry in the Diet Coke, adds too much salt! Have your own sale in a couple weeks!
Hey just wanted to say hi!Thanks for you comments! Cute blog I love your scrapbook pages so cute!! Sorry about the garage sale I would cry too!! But your right on the brighter side the house is cleaner and maybe all you hard work won't be for nothing with your own sale can't wait to hear what you decided!! Good luck! ttys
Oh wow - I would have been completely bummed. I think you should go ahead and have your own yard sale though - that way you'll go ahead and get everything out of the house.
I've been deepcleaning my downstairs - I have so much stuff to get rid of but I am going to donate it - it's easier for me to just get it out of the house rather than watch strangers fondle all my stuff! LOL
Have a great day!
Oh, no!! That would totally bum me out, too. I'm quite sure I would have cried in my iced tea :)
It's good to look on the bright side - you have a cleaner house now!!
Oh sweetie, I would cry too!!! This is soooo something I would do!! I say, have your own in a couple of weeks! And, you DID get the house cleaner - LOL! Smooches!
*STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
OH NO!! I agree with everyone else: have your own sale in a few weeks! :)
Then take the leftovers to Goodwill. That's what we do. Well, that and our leftover clothes go to a local shelter for abused women.
I do stuff like that too. It is nice to know I am not alone! ;)
Bummer . . . have your own and soon people from all over will start doing that themselves. If you advertise well you will probably bring in a really good crowd. Then haul the stuff that doesn't sell, get a receipt and claim it on your taxes this year.
