My first job was as a cashier at the grocery store, Foodland. I was a senior in high school. I liked it alot because I got to meet alot of nice people. I still think about the old man who came in every evening and bought a piece of fresh fruit. He always came through my line because I think he knew I was glad to see him. I loved having "regulars." Creepy story: A man brought in a cocker spaniel with a red bow tied around its neck...Of course I was petting it and talking to it...the dirty old man leaned in and said "I'd like for you to lay on my bed with a red bow around your neck." Ewwww!
From Foodland I went to Sears to be a "Sales Associate" in the Men's Dept. I was in college and I worked here when Dr. Hubby and I got married. I am a "people person so this was fun too." My cousin James helped get me this job. There was this guy that worked at the engraving booth across the aisle. I was in awe of him for 2 reasons...He was a stripper at night...and he would tan ALOT to compete in muscle man competitions. I was SO innocent AND he was so NOT! LOL!
I then went to work at Petland. I was still in college. I was hired by the owner who kept looking at my boobs through the whole interview. He was CLEARLY going through a midlife crisis with his ponytail, hightop sneakers, and hawaiian shorts. I loved this job in the beginning, but it QUICKLY became yucky. I kept leaving the lid off the feeder rats...
I graduated from Marshall University with a degree in Office Technology specializing in Medical. My internship was at an Otolaryngologist's office as a file clerk. They hired me at the end of that. I got pregnant with Manga Dork and decided to leave to be a sahm.
When Manga Dork was one I decided to become an "independent contractor" with Home Interiors and Gifts. I did this for 5 years. I won Junior Queen of Sales for my first year. I won 2 trips to Myrtle Beach and several small prizes. I loved the sense of accomplishment I got from this. I loved going in the different homes and helping ladies decorate. I had a passion for the product also. Conventions were a blast! I traveled to Dallas, TX and Nashville, TN. I left this because it was hard to keep building new business with all our moving!

besides babysitting it was home of ronald. i worked at MCD's. It was fun because a lot of high schoolers did and it was just a big ol' partay.
seriously, they paid me to have a good time.
My first job was as a sales girl at DEBShops which sells clothing to tweens, teens and adults who haven't accepted that they are adults yet. If you stalk their clearance sections and pay attention you can get shoes for 50 cents there.
I am so sorry at how badly I am cracking up over the red bow on the bed. Dying laughing. What a creep of guy. Then the guy that was a stripper and all. I would so be wondering about him. I could just visualize that tan. So funny your stories.
I worked in the fields at my parents. That was my first job. But then I took a waitress job at a resort close to our home. It was fun.
Oh BookstoreBetty...Manga Dork will now add you to her list of people she wants to be...LOL! She LOVES Deb! That is her fave shop because of all the 80s clothing! We had a blast in there laughing at some of the "flashbacks."
We have seen some of those adults that don't want to grow up...
My first job was at a furniture factory, Harris Pine Mills. I worked there for most of a year until I was suspended for two weeks for something I didn't do. I told my supervisor that if they suspended me I wouldn't be back. They didn't back down, and neither did I. After that my Dad helped me get a job as a painters helper at Dalton Truck Sales. Two weeks after I started the painter quit. The boss asked me if I could handle the job. I was seventeen so of course I told him i could. He was very patient with me as I learned, because in all honestly i couldn't handle it.
When I went to college after staying out of high school for a year, I got a part time job at the Harris Pine Mills furniture factory in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funny how things work out.
After 1 year of college, I dropped out got married and have been self employed ever since.

My first job was at a bakery/deli situated in a local grocery store. One night a basketball team came in. They were all tall and cute and I was a young girl that had a hard time looking tall cute guys in the face. I usually looked at my toes and counted them to make sure I still had ten.
This night, when the team come in, it was five minutes to closing and I had already cleaned off the slicer and packed all the meats and cheeses away for the night.
The team was standing there trying to decide between sandwiches or fried chicken. The chicken was already cooked and ready to go but the sandwiches would take me about 30 minutes to make plus another 30 of cleaning up again. I was so bummed when they decided on the sandwiches.
One of the guys noticed my fallen face and asked if the chicken would be easier for me. I nodded my head, embarrassed he had read me so easily. They all changed their orders to chicken and I was so happy.
I should have married that guy. He could read my feelings and acted upon them! WOW! m
My first job was making pizza...pizza, pizza, pizza....I loved making pizza!!!! I was in high school and the job was a total blast.
Then I met hubby who was going to college in my small hometown. I worked as a secretary for two different companies while he finished school, then he moved me to the middle of nowhere and I became a SAHM......=)
I did work as a relief postmaster in one of the areas we lived in and I LOVED that job! Then we moved.....again!
I have a little housecleaning business on the side right now and I do enjoy cleaning for my gals.......My main job has been my family....homeschooling my children and being a 4-H volunteer and leader....love it!

My job history is pretty boring! I started working at Kentucky Fried chicken when I was 16 until I graduated from High School. My senior year I also got a part time working Accounts Recievable for an Electrical Wholesaler. I got out of school at noon so I worked there 1-5 then off to KFC for the night. I work at the Electrical Wholesale place until I was 24. We sold product to electricians. I then got a job at a Grocery Retailer. I work in the corporate office. I started off in Retail Pricing then Accounting and am now a Computer Programmer. It will be 23 years in January. Time sure flies! There was a 6 month time after having my 2nd child, Between Electrial and Grocery that I was a SAHM. It drove me crazy... Thats all I lasted.. six months and had to find something to do! Of course now... with all of my hobbies and addictions I could easily stay at home and fill of up time. Some day!! I hope to retire at age 55.

My first job for earning money was a paper route in 6th grade. My first job working at an establishment was Golden Corral at 16. I have a varied worked history but mostly in teaching, non-profit and sales/public relations. No weird or funny stories though.

Being a Military Spouse I have held jobs in so many places. My mom says I have saw dust in my veins..like circus workers...LOL! Because I like packing up and moving onto the next place...I think it just that I wear out my welcome...heehee! Let's see...I have been a Bingo Caller, Bartender, Dishwasher, Pizza Cook, Pizza Driver (my favorite, I would dog out the base van while delivering the pizza...jump those railroad tracks...I was young and stupid), ID Checker, Waitress, Cashier, Line cook in the Chow Hall, Gas Station attendant, visual merchandiser, Western Union Rep, Florist, Navy Lodge front desk receptionist....the list is long. Currently I'm a vendor/merchandiser at a home improvement store. This job allows me to only work twenty hours a week...during the day, no nights or weekend. I'm very lucky to be able to be home when my kids get on the bus and be home when they get off the bus. I am definitely blessed.
oh...the job history...I started out in high school selling newspaper subscriptions door to door...some very interesting stories about the people on the other side of the door...folks...if you're not completely dressed, just don't answer the door...
