MIL strikes again...DC dies...Why Do I Keep Going In There?

For some reason I can't seem to stay out of Manga Dork's bedroom...

I'm sure this has nothing to do with it...LOL!

Found this the other day...Love it!

My digital camera (DC) died. Boo Hoo! I guess I need a new one...LOL! Hint! Hint!

Yesterday Dr. Hubby, Manga Dork, BIL, SIL, niece, and nephew went horsebackriding/4wheeling. MIL had a REALLY bad headache and FIL was not feeling well either. Wild Child still is recovering from her cold. I decided to stay home instead of letting an ill MIL and FIL watch the 2 little ones. I was harassed, guilt tripped, and insulted for not going. It was so stressful. I don't know what the big deal was...it was weird. Manga Dork called me from my MIL's house and had me on speaker phone...well I spoke my mind for the whole family to hear. After everyone left for the trip MIL called me and I told her that MD was in trouble for putting me on speaker phone. Well, MIL lied and said it was only for a second and all they heard was me say, "Tell Mama that Jesus doesn't like it when you lie." Well, when I asked MD about it when she got home she told me almost word for word what MIL had said...but she had THE LOOK! Turns out MIL had told MD what she told me and told MD to LIE to me to stay out of trouble! MD did. I am sure my BP went through the roof. I have not talked to MIL or MD about this....I had to cool off. Argh.

What would you do if this happened to you? Has this happened to you?

Happy Monday!

oh the joys of having a big, close family! =) mine reminds me of "my big fat greek wedding" sometimes. they all mean well, but i can relate to you! just gets frustrating sometimes when there are so many opinions put in, especially when your kids are involved.
and i better throw this in here in case she reads it - NO OFFENSE TO YOU KELI! HAHA ;)

MIL telling MD to lie though, that's not cool. so you "spoke you mind" not realizing you were on speaker phone? well, maybe that's just as well! now they will know better next time!! that conversation was meant to be between you and your daughter!

Um, yeah, I'm with Marchelle! I can totally relate! We have a big opinionated family and sometimes we all get in the way and need to learn to shut up! But we all love each other very much!!

Go get that new camera!!!

I struggled with my MIL and FIL for about 15 years. Now things are better.

I would cut down on the time these two spend together. Dose that sound too harsh? I would do it harsh or not. I would still be kind and loving to MIL but put my foot down when it comes to trying to get my 13 year old to lie to me.

Good luck. Does your MIL read your blog? M

Something to think about: my kids do not have a grandparent that is willing or able to have a close relationship with them. This is something that makes me feel sad for them. I am glad your MIL wants to be part of their lives. But she can not have your kids lie to you. I am getting my BP up just typing this! m

Wow!! Being on speaker phone and not knowing it is one thing, but to have MIL tell MD to lie......well that is just to much! I'm sure MIL thought she was protecting MD by telling her that, but in the long run, it has come back to bite both of them in the hinny. MIL should know better!!

I think you did the right thing by staying home and not going out with the little ones since they were just getting over their colds and you certainly did the right thing by not sending them to MIL & FIL if they both were not feeling well.....you did the right thing by staying home and don't let anyone make you feel guilty or bad for not going out.......Oh and its perfectly okay to speak your mind.....sometimes that is what is needed and others need to hear it......;)**wink..........

Hope you get a new DC soon......

Love the posters as well........go put your feet up, get something nice and cool to drink and stare at those posters.........=D
