We Cannot Direct the Wind But We Can Adjust The Sails

"The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain." --Dolly Parton
As you can see it is a rainy dreary day here on the farm. I SO could have used a bright sunny day! It all started yesterday evening...
About one hour before time to leave for Manga Dork's game the babies started crying and being tempermental. **I started typing this into sentences but it is going to be WAY too long so I am going to make a long story short** Drop babies at MIL...pick up Manga Dork at Dr. Hubby's office..."bomb" put off to kill gnats in office next door...kitten in box in my car...took off without saying bye to Dr. Hubby...He is offended...Manga Dork plays a really bad game...she is sick, crying, stressed...Pry out of her what is really the problem...Get everyone in bed...I can't keep my eyes open because I am exhausted...Dr. Hubby wants to spend some time together...He is offended again...I cry...
Fast forward to this morning...I wake up feeling like I haven't even slept...Babies don't want to get up for preschool...more crying (them)...Wild Child spits out mucous, I almost puke...Wild Child not swallowing spit...Cutie Patootie refuses to be buckled into car seat, I have to hold her down to buckle her...almost get hit by car pulling out of driveway...Wild Child holds her spit in her mouth the whole way to school...Spits it out on my hand and all over her shirt in the parking lot...She is fine and swallowing as we go in to school...more crying on the way back to the house (me)...Teacher calls, Wild Child is holding spit...Argh!
To be continued...(See that little patch of blue in the sky...I am going to reach for that)

WHAT A DAY!!! So how are you going to adjust the sails for all that adverse wind blowing your way??? I am guessing you have an answer hence the blog title??

Hope you are Dr Hubby make up, glad Mango dork confided in you .. as for the spit.... I am at a loss there!

I think the spit is easier to deal with than trying to get a teen to confide and trying to keep a hubby happy. But none of it is fun. But the hardest part would most likely be trying to get a cat into a box. m

I hat days like that. One of my favorite songs is "Never Blame The Rainbow For The Rain" by the Moody Blues. The chorus says
"Never blame the rainbows for the rain.
And learn to forget the memories
That cause you pain.
The last whispered wish of age
Is to live it all again.
So, never blame the rainbows for the rain.
