Showering With Your Grandma?!

While we were gone on our trip my MIL showered with the 2 little ones. This is something we have repeatedly told her is unacceptable. We have been telling her since Manga Dork was a baby! Today I think I am going to call her and tell her that if it happens again that the kids will not spend the night with her anymore.

This is SO weird! Does your kid's grandparents bath/shower with them? I am sure this could be considered torture by most people...LOL!

We weren't home 10 minutes before we were exposed to the CRAZY and STUPID...argh! Welcome back! LOL!

Nothing like drama, especially after such a relaxing weekend.

I guess "Drama" welcomed you home!

I hope you had a great time on your little get away. Now it's back to the "real" world.

Our kids never bathed or showered with anyone. And taking a shower with Grandma....well,that's just weird!! I think your MIL likes to "buck" your wishes and see just how far she can push you.

((((HUGS)))

oh geez...yeah...there's always a fine line on what some people consider 'no big deal' and what others consider 'totally unacceptable' - and for the record, i'm with ya on this one!!

I guess we are not talking about in a bathing suit?

the thing is, whether other people think it is okay or not, it is your decision to make. And if she can't respect it, then you should probably find an alternative to her keeping them.

If I were the kid I would think it is was weird and wouldn't want to do it. Does it bother your kids?

UPDATE...just talked to MIL and I simply said..."I need to ask you a question. What is it going to take to get you to stop showering and bathing with the kids?" She said, "Just you asking me not to do it." I told her "I have asked you not to do it since Manga Dork was a baby so I don't think that is what it is going to take." She said, "I won't do it anymore." This time I THINK it got through to her. I hope...

I hope it did get through to her. I would not be comfortable with anyone bathing with my kids.

But since my mom or dad or in laws have never, ever, babysat once for me, not even for an hour, this situation has never come up.

Welcome home, I hope you had a great time.

I know some people think it's okay...but it's just creepy to me...eeeewwwwww! Maybe if they were babies...but 4 and 3....weirdness!

If she can't abide by the rules then you have no other options. Good Luck dealing with her sometimes crazy behavior.

SG..that is too weird beyond words! I would NEVER consider, think, or entertain the idea of taking a bath with my grandkids! Sorry you have to deal with that with her. She sounds like a real WINNER!

Welcome Home! LOL!

If they're not infants, I think it's odd. But even as infants, I think it's odd for anyone but the parents. That's a really intimate thing.

I think thats nasty and too much information and since manga dork was a baby oh my goodness well bye

um...that's weird. I have showered with my kids in the past, but not after the 18 month mark.

And it's DOUBLE weird that it's a grandparent. It's seriously something that a 2 or 3 year kid could remember for years.

p.s. my word verification is "hommos." not exactly relevant, but still making me chuckle!

Drama seems to be your life with her! What on earth?
Never in my LIFE would I THINK of bathing with my grand kids! EWWW!
And not even my mother did that with my kids! I never let anyone bathe my kids except me and my DH!
That's just gross beyond words!
I hope SHE GOT THE MESSAGE NOW! I don't know if I would let her watch them again!
And did I say, WELCOME HOME????
